Transcript
Yola shows up with a fucking dab rig.
Speaker B:There we go.
Speaker A:So this whole podcast, I'm.
Speaker B:It's a party.
Speaker A:Well, when I tell you, I'm.
Speaker A:I'm, like, looking at them like this, but in my peripheral, it's a campsite with a fire.
Speaker A:Oh, man.
Speaker A:So I'm thinking we're like, sitting next to a lake.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:That's awesome.
Speaker C:Unquestionable.
Speaker C:The podcast guys.
Speaker C:We're back with a special guest.
Speaker C:None other than radio personality entrepreneur.
Speaker C:The list goes on bootleg.
Speaker C:Kev, how you doing, man?
Speaker A:I'm good, man.
Speaker A:Sacramento in here, huh?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:No.
Speaker C:Appreciate you having us.
Speaker C:Appreciate you having us.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:How much of the, like, Stockton craziest likeness bleeds over to Sack?
Speaker A:A lot.
Speaker C:A lot, a lot.
Speaker B:Too much.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:It's too close, especially where we're from.
Speaker C:Out in goal.
Speaker C:It's like.
Speaker C:Like he was saying 15 minutes away.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:It's damn near like the half point between Stockton, so.
Speaker A:Got it.
Speaker C:Your family's either from Sacrament.
Speaker C:I don't understand.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:The type beats are going crazy right now on YouTube.
Speaker A:Stockton type beats.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:That's all it is you find around town right now.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:That's crazy.
Speaker A:They have, like, this little weird city in the middle of California.
Speaker A:Has its own sound.
Speaker C:No, right.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:They're starting to call it West Coast Drill or something.
Speaker C:Like, I.
Speaker C:I don't know how I feel about that, but they were saying that.
Speaker A:I guess that's about as.
Speaker A:That's a pretty near accurate description.
Speaker B:It's a movement.
Speaker B:It's a movement.
Speaker A:Just a bunch of op killing music.
Speaker B:Oh, man, that's crazy.
Speaker C:I guess.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like that new song J put out where he just.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, he just goes on.
Speaker A:Jesus Christ.
Speaker A:That's aggressive.
Speaker B:He's bringing that.
Speaker B:That diss track hip hop back for sure, though.
Speaker A:It's something.
Speaker C:Yeah, it's something.
Speaker C:They broke.
Speaker C:Don't fix it.
Speaker C:Keeping the area.
Speaker B:He's making his own way right now, too, with what he's doing.
Speaker A:For sure.
Speaker C:Yeah, no, yeah, he has a.
Speaker C:He has a lot in the chokehold right now, you know, a lot of different areas.
Speaker C:So, yeah, everybody out there in that area, even towards the Bay Area, they're all trying to rap like the BBK guys.
Speaker A:Oh, I bet.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:They're trying to tap in with the crew too.
Speaker B:Like, they're the sound right now.
Speaker B:For sure.
Speaker A:For sure.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:He got Stunner girl with him too.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah, she's from Sack, right?
Speaker B:She's from Sack, too.
Speaker A:She's.
Speaker B:She's Dope too.
Speaker B:We listen to.
Speaker B:Well, I don't know.
Speaker B:You guys listen to her?
Speaker C:Yeah, she's.
Speaker B:I'll listen.
Speaker B:I listen to her.
Speaker A:She's cracking.
Speaker A:Yeah, she.
Speaker A:She was like on a.
Speaker A:A TV show or something.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, the Baddies.
Speaker C:Yeah, that's where she came from.
Speaker C:Shout out, Sunny girl Shout out.
Speaker B:Shout out.
Speaker A:She's sleeping with dbk jbo.
Speaker A:Is that like her, man?
Speaker C:I think she's got a separate, man.
Speaker C:No, no, I think they done, bro.
Speaker B:I don't know too much about the.
Speaker C:So, yeah, I think there's speculation, but I don't think it's.
Speaker C:They've.
Speaker C:They've had some selfies in like a back of a car together, but I don't think.
Speaker C:I don't think it's nothing, you know.
Speaker A:Unless they have a song they're trying to promote or something.
Speaker C:Yeah, like that too.
Speaker C:Yeah, could be the Ice by Central Sea.
Speaker B:That's what we got going on right now.
Speaker A:The Fizzler version.
Speaker C:Shout out.
Speaker C:Shout out.
Speaker C:No, but bootleg.
Speaker C:Kev, man, you know, everybody asks you about where your name comes from, but I kind of want to take a different approach and kind of ask you more of how did you get into bootlegging and kind of what, like, you know, how that shaped the rest of your life?
Speaker A:Yeah, I mean, when I was like a kid, like, I didn't have the Internet and.
Speaker A:And my homie, my boy David was like my only friend who had the Internet.
Speaker A:So he was like a Internet nerds.
Speaker A:So this fool would like, he was like on these message boards and downloading songs, downloading mixtapes, downloading albums before they were dropping, like leaks and.
Speaker A:And then I don't know what.
Speaker A:I just.
Speaker A:At the time, I was like selling donuts and at my school for my mom's work before they expired.
Speaker B:There you go.
Speaker A:And I just.
Speaker A:I think the game documentary leaked, okay.
Speaker A:Hella early.
Speaker A:And I remember just me and my homies go to the swap meet.
Speaker A:And I remember when we went one time, I asked the guy, like, how much does it cost to sell shit here?
Speaker A:You know, and it was like 25 bucks for the day for like a parking space to sell stuff out of.
Speaker A:So I was like, yo, we should just go sell the games album.
Speaker A:And so he didn't want to do it, but I.
Speaker A:I did it.
Speaker A:So I like printed up like a hundred copies of the documentary with like some fake artwork and yeah, it was just like a lick.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:And then I was like, oh.
Speaker A:And then that's when I like Figured out how to pay for Internet at my house.
Speaker A:Got like a little shitty computer and figured out, like this message, message board hustle where you were going on these message boards.
Speaker A:And then like clicking on these, like, rapid share links and.
Speaker A:And downloading all these, like, albums like that would leak early back in the day, bro, like, because it is all physical media.
Speaker A:So the album had to get sent to the recording plant, like, where they printed the CDs and all that.
Speaker A:So there was a lot of people's hands that music would go through before it came out, so would leak all the time.
Speaker A:So, yeah, then, you know, at that time, the mixtape game was cracking.
Speaker A:So I started at the swap meet and I was like, I.
Speaker A:I started real slow, just selling like maybe like four or five mixtapes, like a few albums.
Speaker A:And I would sell out like every Saturday or Sunday.
Speaker A:And then I just like, leveled up week by week.
Speaker A:And then I started selling them to like, hip hop stores around the city.
Speaker A:And then that, at that same time, picture T started cracking.
Speaker A:Like, there used to be these, like, picture shirts that used to have, like, mug shots or pictures of Scarface or it's all this random.
Speaker D:You did jerseys too, right?
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Speaker A:That was a little bit later.
Speaker B:But you got into the clothing.
Speaker A:Yeah, so I started making these shirts.
Speaker A:I just bought an iron press and then you would be able to print like a transfer off of a regular printer and then you just press it onto a T.
Speaker A:So I would sell hella shirts.
Speaker A:I would sell like people would want.
Speaker A:So I would have, like.
Speaker A:I would have, like a folder on my computer that I would set up at the swap meet in the back of my rodeo.
Speaker B:And you make like, customs right there.
Speaker A:Or I would like, hey, yo, I have a folder of pictures.
Speaker A:You could choose.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Like, if I didn't have something that was.
Speaker A:If I didn't have, like something that was printed, like, people could like, go through this folder and be like, I want that one, I want that one.
Speaker A:Oh, you got a 50 cent one?
Speaker A:Or you got.
Speaker A:You know, and yeah, so then from there, like, just over time, like, I just was just hitting licks.
Speaker A:And then I.
Speaker A:And I just forgot how.
Speaker A:I forgot how I ended up getting connected with China.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A:But I think there was, like, a website that my boy sent me and I ended up talking to some lady on like, whatever Skype was back.
Speaker A:It wasn't Skype yet.
Speaker A:It was some other.
Speaker A:I think it was like MSN or Yahoo.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Some aol.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So then the jerseys, man, I started getting the jerseys for like, 20 a pop.
Speaker A:And I'd sell them like this before, because right now, the bootleg jerseys are running rampant.
Speaker A:Yeah, it is terrible.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A: But this was, like,: Speaker A:So, like, it wasn't, like, out there yet like that.
Speaker A:So, like, nobody was really getting them.
Speaker C:You couldn't tell the difference between.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So all people saw was like, oh, this is like a stitched jersey.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, for, you know, cheaper.
Speaker A:Like, half whatever it cost to buy it, you know?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because I remember my homies, too, would get.
Speaker B:And they're called the replica jerseys.
Speaker B:And like.
Speaker B:Yeah, I got this from wherever, and I got it for cheaper than what they go for at the mall.
Speaker B:And I'm like.
Speaker B:And they look just like what they were, kind of.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, they're pretty janky, like, right now.
Speaker A:Like, I mean, any jersey, like, if you just type in a player's name on ebay, you could find a Jersey for, like, $40.
Speaker A:For sure.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's, like, fake.
Speaker B:Still giving off the Mitchell nest.
Speaker A:But the thing is, is, like, nowadays, like, fan fanatics is so trash with their jerseys.
Speaker A:It's like, you damn near.
Speaker A:I don't know, man.
Speaker A:I mean, I can't.
Speaker A:But I can't wear no fake jerseys.
Speaker A:I see them.
Speaker A:I just be judging people.
Speaker A:You can just tell.
Speaker B:Don't do it, y' all.
Speaker B:Don't do.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's.
Speaker A:It's rough.
Speaker A:It's like, especially, like.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Some of the, like, more like, intricate design jerseys, I'm like, bro, like, even the Kobe shit.
Speaker A:Like, some of the, like, Mamba Kobe jerseys people be wearing.
Speaker A:Or that.
Speaker A:Or the, like, Crenshaw Laker jerseys, I'm like, full.
Speaker A:Like, that's not a real fucking jersey, but.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Nah.
Speaker A:So, you know.
Speaker A:Yeah, I went into jerseys and shoes.
Speaker A:I was getting dunks.
Speaker A:I got banned off ebay.
Speaker A:Grip.
Speaker B:Really?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because I didn't know anything about, you know, I was just getting, like, Tiffany dunks that were fake, obviously, and then putting them on ebay and, like, trying to get over on people.
Speaker B:That's crazy.
Speaker C:It was the hustle, though.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I was doing that.
Speaker A:So that's kind of what it was.
Speaker A:Just like, you know, I was just always trying to, like, just get some money, you know?
Speaker A:No.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Hustle mentality.
Speaker A:I mean, I had a newborn baby, you know, when I was a senior, you know, so.
Speaker B:Yeah, that'll change your life.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker C:Make you want to make it.
Speaker A:I had to figure some shit out, but, yeah.
Speaker A:So that was kind of, like, what, I guess inspired me.
Speaker A:Like, I just realized, like, you know, I mean, it was illegal as fuck.
Speaker A:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker A:I had orders get hit by customs.
Speaker B:A grip really just coming through like that.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, the jerseys would, like, get stopped and they take them.
Speaker A:So I just have to take it out.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I'm like, damn.
Speaker A:And at the time, I really couldn't afford to take it out.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:Did that influence, like, your.
Speaker C:Your orders, like, where you get them, like, smaller at a time, just.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker C:Like, you did take it out.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because I was doing, like, a.
Speaker A:I would do, like, 80 jerseys at once, and then that would get hit, and I'd be like, your whole load right there.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So then I was like, I have a list that the lady would send me, the Chinese lady, with all the players that were available.
Speaker A:So then I would just take specific orders and be like, hey, it's gonna take, like, a month to get here, you know, like.
Speaker A:But Ladanian, Thomas and Charger jersey was cracking back.
Speaker C:Powder blue, huh?
Speaker A:Yeah, that.
Speaker A:Lt was booming.
Speaker B:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker A:It was like.
Speaker A:Lt.
Speaker A:And who else was cracking?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Probably went crazy.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Somebody on the.
Speaker A:I'm trying to think who was on the Dogs at that time.
Speaker A:There's definitely lt.
Speaker A:Oh, Ochocinko or Chad Johnson.
Speaker A:At the time, that Bengals jersey was cracking, for sure.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:So speaking about, you know, some of those times when you were, you know, bootlegging those.
Speaker C:What are some of the, you know, I guess, most memorable moments or the most memorable times during your career doing that?
Speaker A:I guess, like, I mean, honestly, man, it was just, like, I really didn't have anything else.
Speaker A:I didn't have any, like, idea I was gonna do anything.
Speaker A:Like, I always wanted to do radio.
Speaker A:I went to high school in high school.
Speaker A:I was doing radio shit at my high school.
Speaker A:But I had, like, no, like, clue that, like, there was, like, a career.
Speaker A:There was any sort of, like.
Speaker A:Like, it was for me.
Speaker A:I knew it was for me, but I just didn't know if, like, they.
Speaker A:They knew, you know?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I would just say, man, like, at the time, you know, like, just being at the swap meet, getting there early, and just.
Speaker A:I mean, I used to steal ink from the Office Mac so I could print mixtape covers.
Speaker A:Do what you got.
Speaker A:I was still hella ink from the demo.
Speaker A:The demo printers.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:As soon as I was going.
Speaker A:Take that out.
Speaker C:Thank you.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, me and my baby mama, like, my baby mama would go in and steal hella that we needed, bro.
Speaker B:She was in on it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:That's dope, Ryder.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So it was definitely it.
Speaker A:It Was just like.
Speaker A:I don't know, dude.
Speaker A:Just the whole time was just like, you know, I guess it was fun.
Speaker A:Like when new would come out and you'd be like, oh, now I gotta find a high quality version of the artwork.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I could print it so it doesn't look like.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And then sometimes there wouldn't be any artwork for some albums that would come out and you just find like some fake online or like a picture of the soul or.
Speaker A:And then we used to put together like a mixes.
Speaker A:So I would put like a mix together with like whatever the big songs on the radio.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker B:Just a compilation of the right number ones.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, that would crack too.
Speaker A:But yeah, no, it was cool.
Speaker A:It was like definitely interesting.
Speaker A:I almost got arrested a bunch.
Speaker A:Like the sheriffs would come through and shut down a lot of people's tents and I got banned.
Speaker A:A grip almost thoughtfuls.
Speaker A:Like, there was like a dude who was like selling like oldies and Chicano rap, but like the real CDs.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:And he hated.
Speaker B:He's taking all my money beefing with the Chicano.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Cuz we're like.
Speaker A:It was like an old black dude.
Speaker A:That's what's funny.
Speaker A:I forget the name of.
Speaker A:I think it was Slow and Low records.
Speaker A:Or.
Speaker A:No, not Slow and Low.
Speaker A:Maybe there's a place called Slow and Low.
Speaker A:I'm not sure that was who was at the swap meet.
Speaker A:But yeah.
Speaker A:This fool was a hater though.
Speaker A:Always snitching.
Speaker A:Bro, we're not even selling the same artist.
Speaker A:I know I'm not paying what you're paying for your C CDs.
Speaker C:But.
Speaker A:Yeah, like, you're not even selling the.
Speaker A:I'm selling.
Speaker A:You're selling old oldies and Little Rob and High Power records.
Speaker B:And I know why you mad.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But yeah, no, that was that.
Speaker A:I mean, it was just.
Speaker A:It was a time, bro.
Speaker A:It was.
Speaker A:It was like probably three years in my life I was doing that.
Speaker D:That's dope though.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:That whole era of.
Speaker C:Well, that.
Speaker C:I remember you used to go to the grocery store or whatever and then have like the DVDs.
Speaker C:All the unreleased.
Speaker A:Yeah, even that.
Speaker A:I was doing the DVDs.
Speaker A:The movies.
Speaker A:I mean, I.
Speaker A:We were.
Speaker B:The bootleg movies were crazy.
Speaker C:People walking up in the middle.
Speaker B:Yeah, that was crazy.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:Yeah, that was.
Speaker A:That was different.
Speaker A:I didn't get too into the DVDs because I didn't have a DVD burner.
Speaker A:My homie did.
Speaker A:And you know, back then it was like the burning game and DVDs are a little more Expensive.
Speaker A:And my computer wasn't that fast.
Speaker A:Yeah, downloading a whole movie was.
Speaker B:It wasn't worth it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then, like, you know, really was, like, standing up.
Speaker A:And like, they were shitty versions of the movies.
Speaker B:I think I still have, like a knockoff white chicks at my house.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, someone would stand up or if there was a laugh, you would hear the crowd laughing.
Speaker A:But some of them, like, were that.
Speaker A:But they were so good quality, you wouldn't even tell until there was a laugh.
Speaker A:And you'd be like, oh, this is.
Speaker B:A little head bobble up.
Speaker B:Maybe.
Speaker A:Like, whoever filmed this had a great camera.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, no, for sure.
Speaker B:They went like, late night too, where no one's in there.
Speaker A:Or they probably knew someone at the theater and they were just like, hey, fool, I'm about to.
Speaker B:I'm about to get mine.
Speaker A:Don't send nobody in to bother me.
Speaker C:Funny.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:No, all that was cracking.
Speaker A:I mean, I don't even know if that's.
Speaker A:If, like, I don't think people still leak movies.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:Maybe they do.
Speaker A:Maybe.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:You can go on some streets, but it's trash.
Speaker C:Something from, like, somebody who did it during, like, the premiere or something or.
Speaker A:Got it.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I don't even know, man.
Speaker A:I'm not there.
Speaker A:I don't even know the last movie that came out that I was, like, excited for.
Speaker B:I need the boot.
Speaker A:I need to.
Speaker A:I need to watch this now.
Speaker C:Definitely.
Speaker C:I would say the same.
Speaker B:Oh, that's study.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:No, but talking about that, how would you say that that influenced you as a businessman and entrepreneur?
Speaker A:I don't know, man.
Speaker A:I think it obviously has some influence because, you know, I think the main thing is, you know, I really didn't have another way of making money at that time.
Speaker A:I was.
Speaker A:I was so certain.
Speaker A:Point in time, I ended up interning at the station, so I wasn't getting paid for that.
Speaker A:And then I ended up getting a job with my uncle at a car lot that he owned.
Speaker A:And I would burn the CDs in the office.
Speaker A:And then I got caught doing that.
Speaker A:He fired me.
Speaker C:Oh, man.
Speaker A:I was using his computer because that computer was fired.
Speaker A:But no, I would just say processor on that.
Speaker A:You know, I think, like, when you go through that kind of, like, you know, it's.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's like real.
Speaker A:I will say this.
Speaker A:Like, it kind of shows you, like, supply and demand's a man.
Speaker A:So it's like at that time in Arizona, there was not a lot of, like, access to, like, you know, mixtapes.
Speaker A:And all that.
Speaker A:Like, unless you were like, online savvy, you know.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So, you know, it just kind of taught me, like, well, if people want something like, you give it to them.
Speaker A:They'll.
Speaker A:They'll come, you know, it also taught me, like, doing illegal is not too sustainable for too long.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:Only lasts good for so long.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:Risks.
Speaker D:For real.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, I think I forget when I stopped doing it, but, I mean, I ended up just getting banned from the major swap meets.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then it just didn't make sense.
Speaker A:It was like, well, like, this is it.
Speaker A:And then I moved.
Speaker A:I moved to Idaho to take a radio gig.
Speaker A:But, yeah, it just was like I could.
Speaker A:I didn't have a spot to sell.
Speaker A:A few of the stores I was like hustling to ended up closing down.
Speaker A:And then by then there was like a lot more people who were doing what I was doing.
Speaker A:And it was like, man, I don't have like a.
Speaker A:These fools are having like 20 CD towers where they're burning 20 seated at once.
Speaker A:And I had like two.
Speaker A:I mean, like.
Speaker A:Yeah, so, yeah, it was just cool.
Speaker A:It was like, you know, it was a.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:It just.
Speaker A:I think it was a.
Speaker A:It was just an era of music and it was like everybody was trying to get Michelin s jerseys and dunks and.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:And mixtapes are the.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker D:I was going to say walk us through.
Speaker D:Like, during that time where you're actually breaking tracks and records and stuff.
Speaker D:Like when you were, you know, showcasing.
Speaker D:Like we watched the interview where you're.
Speaker D:You're breaking.
Speaker D:Kendrick, you're breaking.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I ended up underground.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I ended up.
Speaker A:So in high school, I had a radio show called Ready Set Radio.
Speaker A:And that was just like, me and my friend David did the show and it was a mile around the school.
Speaker A:Winded up working at the radio station.
Speaker A:Eventually they gave me like a version of that show.
Speaker A:At the time it was called Friday Night Flavors.
Speaker A:And so on that show, which then I.
Speaker A:I took with me everywhere I went.
Speaker A:I was in Vegas, I was in Boise, I was everywhere.
Speaker A:I ended up renaming it Ready Set Radio when I left Phoenix so I could keep that old OG high school name.
Speaker A:And yeah, it was like a late night, Sunday night, like 10pm to midnight show where we just played like blog era rap.
Speaker A:Real but also classic that we love.
Speaker A:Like, we would play like Big L and like old.
Speaker A:Old Nas, old Wu Tang.
Speaker A:Like, but we'd also play like all the dope blog era that we loved.
Speaker A:We were cleaning up all the music ourselves.
Speaker C:That's Dope.
Speaker A:So, like, I think the first song from Kendrick we ever played might have been Michael Jordan.
Speaker B:Oh, that sounds tough.
Speaker A:Or.
Speaker A:And Patrol.
Speaker D:Damn.
Speaker B:That was the time.
Speaker A:I think it was Pussy and Patron or Michael Jordan.
Speaker B:Michael Jordan.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But we cleaned them shits up, you know, like, it was like Patron sounded crazy.
Speaker A:Yeah, because it was like we were reversing.
Speaker A:I mean, yeah, we didn't have the instrumental to make a proper clean and we were very audio talented at the time.
Speaker A:But yeah, like guys like Kendrick and Cole and you know, even before them, like Pill and early W.
Speaker A:Yellow Wolf, Big Crit.
Speaker A:I think, like in the 08 era, we were playing like kids kids.
Speaker A:Well, cool kids.
Speaker A:Kids these days.
Speaker A:Kids in the hall, Pack Div.
Speaker A:Just hella.
Speaker A:Yeah, hella like that.
Speaker A:I think the cool kids wave was crazy.
Speaker A:So we were like, yeah, we're heavily supporting the cool kids.
Speaker A:But yeah, that was just like a whole.
Speaker A:Like, that was from like, I did that all the way up until from like 08 to like.
Speaker A:So I moved to LA.
Speaker A: So that was in: Speaker A:When did I move here?
Speaker A:2017.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A:From everywhere, from, you know, Phoenix, Tampa, Vegas, Boise, Idaho.
Speaker A:Whatever city I was at.
Speaker A:I would do my normal radio show, like the afternoon show or the night show, whenever.
Speaker A:Monday through Friday, and then on Sunday nights I'd be able to get my off.
Speaker C:You know, that's what I was gonna ask.
Speaker C:Isn't that where you kind of birthed kind of that transition to putting a lot of the freestyles and interviews and things on YouTube?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So that started when I was in Idaho.
Speaker A:I bought a.
Speaker A:I saw.
Speaker A:I would see Peter Rosenberg would film stuff on a flip cam and he.
Speaker A:I forget what he used to call flip cam some.
Speaker A:So I bought a flip cam and I already was like, super blog, rap blog, nerd.
Speaker A:And so the first interview I put up that ended up getting posted was a Fat Joe phone call where Fat Joe called into my radio show and I think I.
Speaker A:I would like edit visuals over, like, behind his, like the audio of the call and put it on YouTube and then the blogs would pick it up.
Speaker A:And then the first interview I ever filmed that went viral was I talked to the game in Idaho in his hotel room right after Chris Brown beat up Rihanna.
Speaker D:Jim, that's memorable.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So that interview came out, went on YouTube.
Speaker A:TMZ posted it.
Speaker A:It was all over.
Speaker A:It was like trending on YouTube and I didn't even know what the.
Speaker A:Any of that meant, to be honest.
Speaker A: That was in: Speaker A:And from there I just.
Speaker A:Any piece of content that I captured, if it was a phone call, if it was, I put it on YouTube and I would try to send it to whatever emails to these blogs I had, you know, like two dope boys or not right.
Speaker A:Or whatever the.
Speaker A:And yeah, like, during that time, like, I had a Nipsey freestyle that dropped.
Speaker A:That was.
Speaker A:That was an 09.
Speaker A:That was in Idaho.
Speaker A:He was opening up for Game on LAX store.
Speaker A:I was the same run.
Speaker A:So it was like Game and Nipsey in the same, like, day damn near.
Speaker A:We filmed MERS.
Speaker A:Tech 9 were there.
Speaker A:That's dope.
Speaker C:How'd you get connected with Those guys.
Speaker A:With MERS or Tech 9 or the game in.
Speaker A:Oh, I knew the game.
Speaker A:I used to sell the game drugs when you'd come to Phoenix.
Speaker A:So I was an intern.
Speaker A:I was an intern.
Speaker A:When I was an intern at the radio station, I sold him weed once.
Speaker A:And then his artist was Juice from Phoenix.
Speaker A:And so I ended up getting cool with Juice.
Speaker A:And yeah, I just.
Speaker A:I forget how who I was connected with in Games camp.
Speaker A:Probably his brother, who I'm still cool with.
Speaker A:Yeah, I forget, but I just knew.
Speaker A:I just remember selling Weed to.
Speaker A:To Game, going to his hotel room in Phoenix in like 08 and bringing him weed and connecting that way.
Speaker A:He had a homie named Avante Rose.
Speaker A:A.R.
Speaker A:who's passed away.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Crazy situation where he killed his girlfriend and killed himself, I believe.
Speaker A:Chasing crackers, brother.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was actually.
Speaker A:I think it was ar.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Rest in peace to ar.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So AR was kind of like the whack before Whack.
Speaker A:Oh, he was a part of Games crew before Whack came on board.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A:Way before.
Speaker A:So, yeah.
Speaker A:And then, yeah.
Speaker A:So like, when they were in Boise, I just pulled up to his hotel and we were hanging out and I was like, yo, can I interview you real quick on Game before?
Speaker A:Like, so it's just on YouTube.
Speaker A:I interviewed him while he was playing 2K or MLB.
Speaker A:I forget that's done.
Speaker A:But that was, like, the first thing that ever, like, was, like, pretty viral.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then I just was like, I don't know.
Speaker A:Like, I saw other.
Speaker A:I just figured, like, I wanted to talk to the artist that I was listening to on online and, like, I would have Freddy.
Speaker A:Like, I had Freddie Gibbs calling in my show and, like, Freddy's one of the first artists I ever broke.
Speaker A:For real.
Speaker A:For real.
Speaker A:You know Ritz too.
Speaker A:Shout out to my brother Ritz.
Speaker A: Freddie Gibb phone call from: Speaker A:Like, an interview over the phone.
Speaker A:I interviewed, like, Pusha T.
Speaker A:I would just try to get fools to call into my Raekwon Pusha.
Speaker A:Who else?
Speaker A:Fat Joe.
Speaker A:Yeah, but.
Speaker A:But, yeah, from there, when I went to Vegas was when really turned up, because then I.
Speaker A:I had a lot of people actually physically coming to the station.
Speaker A:You know, this is Vegas access.
Speaker C:Just went.
Speaker C:Went crazy.
Speaker A:Through the roof for sure.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:Damn.
Speaker A:Yeah, so, like, when I was in Vegas, bro, we have J.
Speaker A:Cole freestyles, Kendrick freestyles, interviews with both of them cats.
Speaker A: that was relevant from, like,: Speaker A:Like, everybody, like, anybody from the blog era pretty much was on my.
Speaker D:Like, that was the time for.
Speaker C:Yeah, no, that was like our childhood.
Speaker C:So.
Speaker C:For real, to hear that.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I think the blog era is like the best.
Speaker A:Best era of rap.
Speaker A:For real.
Speaker A:Because it was like the curators, obviously, there were gatekeepers, but the gatekeepers had good taste.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Taste makers, you know, like, all them blogs, like, for the most part, had good taste.
Speaker A:So, like, there was like a cool.
Speaker A:The gatekeeping wasn't bad at that time because, like, nowadays it's like, if something goes crazy algorithmically, it's going to be unwrap caviar, even if it sounds like.
Speaker C:You can't control it like you used to.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's like in order to get on two dope boys back in the day, like, you actually had to be kind of tough.
Speaker A:Like, them fools weren't taking money for posts, you know?
Speaker A:Yeah, so, yeah, I like that era.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The blog era was crazy.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A: , like,: Speaker A:That was lit.
Speaker C:Would you say you have a favorite maybe record or artist that you had a hand in breaking or.
Speaker C:Or, you know, you know, changing the trajectory towards.
Speaker C:Or would it kind of be hard?
Speaker A:So I was the first.
Speaker A:So at the time in Vegas, I was the mix show coordinator and then at the radio station.
Speaker A:So I was the first person in America to put J.
Speaker A:Cole not.
Speaker A:What's.
Speaker A:What was his first single.
Speaker A:Not.
Speaker A:Not Workout, the one that.
Speaker C:Who that.
Speaker A:Who that?
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:Yeah, Put that in the mix show was the first person to play Workout.
Speaker A:I was playing.
Speaker A:I was so early on playing Workout that I was playing, like, the demo version that EB Sent me.
Speaker D:Damn.
Speaker A:And the label to be like, yo, what.
Speaker A:What is this version?
Speaker A:I'm like, bro, Ibrahim sent it to me, dog.
Speaker C:That's fire.
Speaker C:That's just hard.
Speaker D:Connected for real?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, trying to think.
Speaker A:I mean, like, yeah, I mean, a lot of, like, in terms of, like, my hands being on the record, like, I a r, like, the Ritz, Mike Posner that.
Speaker A:Oh, I got both plaques up there.
Speaker A:They both went gold.
Speaker A:Well, they're actually both platinum now, but, yeah, I, I A and r both of those.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A:Like, Mike Posner and, like, Ritz is Mike.
Speaker A:Mike and Rich are, like, two of my closest friends in the game.
Speaker A:And at the time, Mike was, like, trying to tap in with, like, up and coming rappers.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A:And I was like, fool, you got to check out Ritz.
Speaker A:This was crazy.
Speaker A:And it was like, dog set up a session, and then they ended up cutting, like, five records, and two of them are platinum.
Speaker A:That's crazy.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker C:So also talking about, like, that time period in your life, kind of take us through chasing down some of these, you know, interviews or.
Speaker C:Or records earlier on in your career and, like, maybe how tough that was.
Speaker A:It wasn't that hard, man.
Speaker A:I mean, honestly.
Speaker A:So what I would do is Twitter was a tool I would use where I would.
Speaker A:On Sunday nights, either me or an intern, any song I played on the radio would be hashtag NP now playing.
Speaker A:And I tagged the rap artist with the song name and with on at Hot 975 Vegas or whatever, so artists will start to notice, like, yo, these fools are playing my music on the radio.
Speaker A:Like, who the is this bootleg cat fool?
Speaker A:Like, and then at the time, like, I had, like, a very moderate to small name on the blog scene because, like, my.
Speaker A:Sometimes my interviews would go up on, like, these blogs.
Speaker A:So, like, then it was just easy to, like, I would just DM people on Twitter or they would follow me back because I was playing their shit on the radio or.
Speaker A:And then obviously I would have, like, relationships with the labels and they would help me.
Speaker A:But it wasn't too hard.
Speaker A:It's a lot.
Speaker A:Honestly, it's a lot harder nowadays to get people to pull up.
Speaker A:Yeah, back then it was, like, easy.
Speaker A:For real.
Speaker A:Like, fuck, I remember one.
Speaker A:Yeah, like, one.
Speaker A:One.
Speaker A:Like, I had Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa on my show at the same time.
Speaker A:Damn.
Speaker A:Tough.
Speaker A:Sean was opening for Wiz on the Rolling Papers tour.
Speaker C:Damn, that was a time, too.
Speaker A:Yeah, and then.
Speaker A:Yeah, and then, like, I had Freddy and Jeezy on my show at the same time.
Speaker A:Like, when Jeezy.
Speaker A:When Jeezy first signed Freddy.
Speaker A:Yeah, even whiz, like, whiz, you know, whiz is still a close friend to this day, you know, I mean, I I.
Speaker A:First time I interviewed Wiz, he was.
Speaker A:It was his tour with Yellow.
Speaker A:Wolf was opening.
Speaker A:And that was the first time I met Wolf too.
Speaker A:But I.
Speaker A:I hosted that concert.
Speaker A:So I met Yellow backstage and I was like, hey, fool.
Speaker A:Like, I'm a big fan.
Speaker D:For real.
Speaker A:Like, yeah.
Speaker A:And then I gave him a crazy ass intro on stage.
Speaker A:And then after I did an interview in his dressing room, he's like, yo, that was the best intro of the tour.
Speaker A:Thank you, bro.
Speaker A:And then we.
Speaker A:I mean, me and Wolf ended up locking in, which.
Speaker A:Which is how I got with Ritz.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:But yeah, like, Wiz is still my boy.
Speaker A:Like, I call whiz right now.
Speaker A:Pick up.
Speaker A:Like, I was just in Thailand with that fool for, like, two weeks.
Speaker A:Like, he's doing my club.
Speaker A:He's doing my club on Friday in az.
Speaker A:But, like, a lot of those, like, OG relationships, like, I still have, you know, like, I see Top Dog, it's still.
Speaker A:He knows me from playing Jrock, you know, he knows me from that whole era of tde.
Speaker A:And, you know, if I see Cole, same thing.
Speaker A:It's like, love, like, cold.
Speaker A:Like, you know what I mean?
Speaker C:Like, that's awesome.
Speaker A:But, like, those guys are so big.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:If I see Kendrick today, like, he knows.
Speaker A:Like, I've interviewed Kendrick, like, seven times, you know?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Not lately, because you don't do it, but like, throughout his career, you know, like, it was cool to see, like, those type of careers just kind of like the awesome and what they are now.
Speaker A:It's like, fuck.
Speaker A:At the time, you're not really, like, feeling like this is, like, some history.
Speaker A:You're just a fan, you know?
Speaker A:But all that is history, man.
Speaker D:Like, you've been.
Speaker D:You've been a part of so many eras, man.
Speaker A:Like, yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker A:Even, like, the Drake, like, dude, like, I love Drake's.
Speaker D:Like, yeah.
Speaker A:You know, when Drake first came out, like, I.
Speaker A:I love.
Speaker A:So far gone, bro.
Speaker A:That's crazy.
Speaker C:Yeah, she was fire.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I was like, damn, this feels like, like, kind of.
Speaker A:That's why I like Drake.
Speaker A:When he first came out, he was almost like, super relatable because he wasn't trying to be too cool.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And then he started to want to be too cool.
Speaker A:And I was like, man, this was corny.
Speaker A:Like, that's why I.
Speaker A:With Kai.
Speaker A:That's why everybody with Kanye, Kanye was rapping about working at the Gap.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, that's crazy.
Speaker A: In: Speaker A:Like, that's wild, you know?
Speaker C:No, for sure.
Speaker A:Was that even 05.
Speaker A:That was more like 03.
Speaker A:03.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was like 03.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:That's crazy.
Speaker A:But, yeah, n.
Speaker A:It's cra.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's definitely wild, man.
Speaker A:But shout out to, you know, the blog era.
Speaker A:The blog area was special, man.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:Facts, definitely.
Speaker C:I'd for sure say so.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:As far as, like, you know, you being in that era, like, you know, transitioning into the newer generation of music and stuff, like, do you have any, like, you know, specific fan favorites that you've done in recent times?
Speaker A:I mean.
Speaker A:Yeah, the NBA young boy people love.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:NBA was a dope interview.
Speaker D:For real.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I would just say, like, it just depends.
Speaker A:Like, I interviewed Destroy Lonely, and people love that interview.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:Yeah, I'm not into the Opium at all.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, no, I actually liked.
Speaker A:I actually really like the Playboy Cardi.
Speaker C:Album, the new ones.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:The production is crazy.
Speaker A:Beats are crazy.
Speaker B:Features, too, are crazy.
Speaker D:Two hours.
Speaker D:Two hours at Rolling Loud was insane, too.
Speaker A:I was there.
Speaker A:I got the out of there once they.
Speaker A:Once they sounded like they were about to shut it down, and I was like, I'm not gonna stick around to see these white kids riot.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Who else is, like, from the newer generation?
Speaker A:Like, I interviewed, like, Rallo Rodriguez.
Speaker B:Oh, he's dope.
Speaker A:And it wasn't, like, a great interview, but I guess for him it was a great interview because he's, like, not the most talkative.
Speaker D:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Same thing with Young Nudie.
Speaker A:Like, I.
Speaker A:I remember I did my Young Nudie interview, and mind you, it wasn't great.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:But it wasn't bad.
Speaker A:And then I saw him do an interview with academics, and it was horrible.
Speaker A:At least I was like, damn.
Speaker A:Well, at least, like, Young Nudie, like, gave me some.
Speaker A:You know, we talked for a minute.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:But all the new I love is, like, you know, I love, like, big extra plug.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:Fire Dochi's amazing.
Speaker A:Mexican ot.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Who else do I with?
Speaker A:I love the Russell.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:Out of la, man.
Speaker A:I like, do I with that.
Speaker A:I mean, Peso's dope.
Speaker A:Lefty's dope.
Speaker A:There's this kid named Marcus Clay from Houston that's super dope.
Speaker A:He could wrap his ass off.
Speaker B:Check him out.
Speaker A:Lord Skull from New York is dope.
Speaker A:Gorilla Nims I with.
Speaker A:Okay, trying to think, who's in la.
Speaker A:There's a lot of dope dudes in la.
Speaker A:Ys who's a part of Meet the Whoops is dope.
Speaker A:Jay Worthy's dope.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then, like, that.
Speaker A:I feel like Larry June is kind of like a.
Speaker A:Yeah, he kind of.
Speaker A:I mean, he's like a og, though.
Speaker A:Like, that feels like damn near like, tail end blog era to now.
Speaker C:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker A:But it's been dope to see him kind of like hit his peak and just like, create his own world.
Speaker A:Like, Larry's the dog.
Speaker A:Like that.
Speaker A:That's my favorite album of the year, is Crazy.
Speaker D:Life is Beautiful track is insane.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:And some people don't realize how long he's been dropping his bro.
Speaker A:No, that's what's been around.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I remember when we were like, in high school and going into college and stuff, he was dropping slappers.
Speaker C:And now he's been around forever, dude.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's just crazy because, like, he just.
Speaker A:I feel like people really just started to, like.
Speaker A:I feel like, like early Pandemic, people started to really, really, like, pay attention.
Speaker A:Like, I mean, he had a cult following for sure, for years, but yeah, like, he started to crack on a different level during the pandemic.
Speaker D:Yeah, definitely San Francisco.
Speaker C:And the pandemic changed a lot for sure.
Speaker A:Facts.
Speaker C:Yeah, I wanted to ask you about that because I.
Speaker C:I've seen some of your interviews.
Speaker C:You've talked about how much the pan.
Speaker C:The pandemic changed your life with even just the cultivation of this podcast and everything.
Speaker A:Yeah, man.
Speaker A:I mean, the pandemic know, dude, it was like a weird time of life for everybody.
Speaker A:It was like.
Speaker A:It feels like it was like a year ago for real does.
Speaker A:But, yeah, I don't know, it was just like a weird time personally because, like, I had, like, a plan.
Speaker A:I opened my studio February of that year, and then March, everything shuts down and so I.
Speaker A:I couldn't afford it.
Speaker A:Close.
Speaker A:So I was the Kovid Super Spreader studio.
Speaker A:Like, I was a studio, like, because so all of TDE was using my studio pretty much.
Speaker A:Anybody who knew me, who knew I had a studio in LA was booking my studio.
Speaker A:Roddy Rich was there because Interscope studios were closed.
Speaker A:So, like, my studio was cracking because we were the only fools that, like, didn't give a fuck about.
Speaker A:Not to say I didn't give a fuck about COVID I was a.
Speaker A:I was wearing gloves and like a.
Speaker C:Money has to come in, though.
Speaker A:I was double masked up.
Speaker A:Like, thinking back, I was like, damn.
Speaker A:Yeah, you have no idea.
Speaker A:Shout out to my engineers because they were six feet.
Speaker A:Six feet.
Speaker A:All my engineers didn't get.
Speaker A:I mean, one of them did.
Speaker A:He was.
Speaker A:But he still worked.
Speaker A:I'm like, yeah, you know how to work, dog.
Speaker A:If you don't want to, you know.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was just like, you know, I plan on doing a podcast anyway, because I just had, like, false starts.
Speaker A:I was supposed to sign Drink Champs, was supposed to do a podcast network.
Speaker A:I announced I was gonna do a podcast.
Speaker A:I shot two episodes.
Speaker A:One was with Adam 22.
Speaker A:One was with Dre London.
Speaker A: This was in: Speaker A:17.
Speaker A:18.
Speaker A:No, 18.
Speaker A:And Noriega calls me, and he's like, yo, hold off on dropping that.
Speaker A:I want you to be one of the first podcasts we signed to our network.
Speaker A:And that, like, was Addicties for, like, a year.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A:And I was like.
Speaker A:Because he kept negotiating with different companies, and it just.
Speaker A:We had meetings about it.
Speaker A:Just nothing ended up coming of it.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I just was uninspired.
Speaker A:I was like, all right, well, this sucks.
Speaker A:Then I have my studio.
Speaker A:So I'm like, all right, well, now I have a recording studio.
Speaker A:At the time, radio stations were closed.
Speaker A:I was doing my show from the crib.
Speaker A:Any interviews I was doing was on Instagram Live, which was hella gay.
Speaker A:Everybody was doing Instagram Live interviews.
Speaker A:I had some good ones, like, obviously, like.
Speaker A:But it was kind of like the IG Live era of the pandemic.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And I had radio.
Speaker A:I was going nuts.
Speaker A:Shout out to Tori.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I was like.
Speaker A:I had artists still hitting me up to want to come to the station or the labels.
Speaker A:Like, hey, I don't know if you guys are open out there.
Speaker A:I'm like, no.
Speaker A:Or not.
Speaker A:But then I was like, man, this.
Speaker A:I got a studio now.
Speaker A:Like, I could just do my own.
Speaker A:And the station can't tell me, like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:So that's why I was like, man, I just need to do this podcast for real.
Speaker A:And I think the first one we ever filmed was with Mozzie, but that was the third one we released.
Speaker D:Okay.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A:So my first episode that ever dropped was with Freddie Gibbs.
Speaker A:It was Freddie Scott Storch.
Speaker A:And then Mozzy, I think, was episode three.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:But Mozzy was actually the first one we filmed.
Speaker A:And, yeah.
Speaker A:So, yeah, I mean, the podcast just changed my life.
Speaker A: And then by the time December: Speaker A: ched my syndicated show March: Speaker A:You know.
Speaker D:The whole resume, man.
Speaker D:It's insane.
Speaker A:But, yeah, no, Pandemic was crazy, man.
Speaker A:People are getting money, boy.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:I wasn't.
Speaker A:I'm so glad I did not get convinced to do the ppp, bro.
Speaker A:All my Scamming ass homies was like, sweat, bro.
Speaker A:You got an llc, it's easy.
Speaker A:I'm like, bro.
Speaker C:But they were the same ones sweating a couple years later.
Speaker C:Huh.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:I mean, one of my homies is in prison for that.
Speaker C:Sorry to hear.
Speaker A:He was doing that on a crazy scale.
Speaker A:Then another one of my friends not in jail yet.
Speaker A:He was.
Speaker C:He's flirting.
Speaker A:He was paying homeless people for their socials.
Speaker B:And really, he was one of them.
Speaker C:I know a few homies I was doing.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:See how many soldiers you can, bro.
Speaker A:And like, he would hit these ATMs, yeah.
Speaker A:With those cards and withdraw cash.
Speaker A:Like, he would take like once a week.
Speaker A:It'd be like an eight hour day for him.
Speaker A:Just hitting different ATMs, withdrawing money from these cards, these EDD cards or whatever.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And this fool didn't even live in California.
Speaker A:He lives in Arizona.
Speaker B:What?
Speaker A:So this fool would come out here just because the EDD system in Cali was So.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:The 600 extra dollars, whatever it was.
Speaker A:It was wild, dude.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker D:Day shift, for real.
Speaker A:But people had money like they'd never had money before, you know, it's wild, dude.
Speaker A:But yeah.
Speaker A:Now the pandemic was.
Speaker A:I feel like the pandemic showed people, I always say, like, my homie Cassie got a.
Speaker A:A line in one of his records where he's like, the pandemic either showed if you.
Speaker A:If you what the.
Speaker A:You either had it.
Speaker A:If you had it, you.
Speaker A:It showed during the pandemic.
Speaker A:But if.
Speaker A:If it didn't, you never had it to begin with.
Speaker A:Essentially, like, it really, like, separated the boys from the men in this.
Speaker A:For real.
Speaker A:Because it was like, hey, dog, if.
Speaker A:If you gotta just stand on your brand and.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And which.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And your hustle and your drive, because the world has shut the down where you stand.
Speaker A:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker A:Like, can you survive?
Speaker A:You know, like.
Speaker A:And yeah, a lot of people, man, and they're selling real estate now that was doing radio.
Speaker A:You know, they're working.
Speaker A:Working.
Speaker A:I got a homie who's a OG in radio, legend in radio, works at 18 at an AT T store as a manager right now.
Speaker A:Dog never bounced back from the pandemic.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:I just feel like, you know, the pandemic, if it didn't bring the hustle out of you, like, I don't know what to tell you, you know, I.
Speaker C:Don'T think it was ever there.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Like, you should have a.
Speaker A:You know, some people are meant to just have nine to fives, which Is fine, you know, but I feel like that pandemic was cracking, though, man.
Speaker A:That was a lot of money.
Speaker A:Oh, definitely getting thrown around.
Speaker C:Looking back for sure, man.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:My studio.
Speaker A:Just the amount of scammers that were booking studio time that sucked at rapping.
Speaker C:They paid on time.
Speaker A:Oh, my God.
Speaker A:And even just like the artists who were getting features off, like, bro, these rappers were cracking fools for features and then not even clearing them.
Speaker A:That's the crazy.
Speaker A:These stupid would pay.
Speaker A:Pull up on an artist, like 50, 75 grand, pay for the verse, get it recorded at that time.
Speaker A:But then when it was time to release it, the label wouldn't clear it.
Speaker A:They're on like Atlantic Records or Warner or some.
Speaker C:And scamming easy look.
Speaker A:Yeah, but.
Speaker A:But these fools didn't give a.
Speaker A:They just wanted to be like, these fools ain't real rappers.
Speaker A:They're like drug dealers that want to rap.
Speaker A:And then they would just be able to be like, I have a song with so and so.
Speaker C:See, we have a video of us in the studio.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Or even they'd shoot videos, but it'd be like, good luck.
Speaker C:It's nice seeing the time of day.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:No, it was.
Speaker A:The pandemic was crazy, bro.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I just can't believe it was so far, far away.
Speaker A:Like, it feels like.
Speaker A:Feels like it just ended for real.
Speaker A:There's still running around with masks on outside and driving in cars by themselves and shits on if people still be worried about it.
Speaker C:Granted, I get it, but no, I don't.
Speaker A:Not if you're in the car alone.
Speaker A:If you're alone in the car with.
Speaker C:Your windows rolled up, hey, you could gloves on.
Speaker A:Are you gonna give yourself covet?
Speaker A:Like, what are we doing here?
Speaker C:No, but, you know, talking about branching off, doing your own thing with.
Speaker C:With the podcast and everything.
Speaker C:Obviously it comes with a lot of learning lessons, a lot of growing pains.
Speaker C:What would you say is like one big, I guess, learning lesson or learning curve that you had that really helped turn this into what it was?
Speaker A:I would say.
Speaker A:Huh.
Speaker A:I would say the biggest hurdle we probably had was not knowing to make YouTube clips longer.
Speaker A:So, like, I would have, like an interview and I would clip it up 50 ways or whatever, but one clip might be two minutes long.
Speaker A:And you don't make any money off that on YouTube.
Speaker A:There's like, not enough time for ads to run.
Speaker A:The sweet spot for, like, clips is like eight minutes where you can make some money if it goes crazy on YouTube.
Speaker A:So we lost.
Speaker A:We left a lot of money on the table doing that.
Speaker A:I would say the camera.
Speaker A:You know, when we first started, I had three different cameras.
Speaker A:I was like, I have no idea what the.
Speaker A:I was doing on the camera side.
Speaker A:So, like, investing in, like, making sure the.
Speaker A:If you go watch, like, probably the first, I don't know, 100 episodes of the podcast, it was all three different cameras.
Speaker A:I think the main thing with.
Speaker A:I think I kind of went through the, like, learning curve of, like, all of this when.
Speaker A:When it comes to, like, just putting out content through.
Speaker A:I've already kind of been doing stuff on YouTube forever.
Speaker A:Like, on Real92.3, we had so many.
Speaker A:Like, me and my boys are the ones editing all of our interviews.
Speaker A:Like the Haiti Baby freestyle that went viral.
Speaker C:Like, oh, yeah.
Speaker A:So I kind of already knew a lot about the YouTube.
Speaker A:I just was.
Speaker A:And we were lucky enough to kind of come out with sponsors episode one, because I had some relationships with some homies at LRG and Odd Socks, so we had them kind of locked in.
Speaker A:Well, Odd Socks was day one.
Speaker A:So, you know, figuring out the sponsorship game, which I'm still trying to figure out, but we've done a really good job, like, considering it's just me and my homie.
Speaker A:And then I guess figuring out, like, the.
Speaker A:Like, we'd have videos get demonetized, and we would just take an L on it, you know, as opposed to, like, trying to figure out how to get it unyellowed, we'd call it.
Speaker A:So, like, yeah, if you put a stuff up on YouTube, you think it's gonna go, like, try to take the curse words out if you can.
Speaker A:Demonetization is, like, important, you know, like, it's your catalog.
Speaker A:So if you have 10 years worth of interviews, five years worth of interviews, like, that's like, almost like a music catalog, you know, if you have, like, dope interviews that people want to go back and watch, people will, like, go back and watch them.
Speaker A:Like, I still, like, I.
Speaker A:I feel like, you know, I've had people coming to me about hella old interviews that I've done.
Speaker A: t watched this interview from: Speaker A:For real?
Speaker A:Like, that's crazy.
Speaker A:I didn't own that interview.
Speaker A:It's probably on Real92Three's YouTube channel.
Speaker A:But, yeah, I feel like, you know, just figuring out the monetization side, making sure your videos are greened.
Speaker A:I think nowadays you have to try to figure out a way to try to build a community on YouTube.
Speaker A:Like, I was lucky enough to kind of get in like where I already had a name and I already had like a little.
Speaker A:I had a great network.
Speaker A:Like I'm, I was me, you know, So I was like, fuck, I know everybody, everybody's gonna pull up, you know, So I didn't have to go through the learning curve.
Speaker A:Somebody started from scratch.
Speaker A:Did you know where I'm like, damn, how do I get guests?
Speaker A:How do I get people to want to come through?
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:I never had to go through that.
Speaker A:So I was lucky in that.
Speaker A:I would just say if you are a new podcast, if you are trying to garner attention, you got to build a community.
Speaker A:And if you're going to be like a guest driven podcast, you gotta try to like figure out how to stand out in an oversaturated game.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:And just make sure you're like clipping like crazy because Tick Tock reels.
Speaker A:All that is like, it's something, you know, like those are the places where you could get the most traction organically.
Speaker A:Especially Tick Tock, you know, with a clip, you know.
Speaker A:But do all that on YouTube too.
Speaker A:But yeah, I guess like, you know, I didn't go through many uphill battles just because my whole career isn't up.
Speaker A:Wasn't it was the battle, you know?
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Speaker A:So it's like now I'm just doing, I'm still doing the radio shit, but also I have a podcast.
Speaker A:So come through for like instead of us doing it a real 92.
Speaker A:3 where we used to do it, you come to my and we'll do it.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:So that's essentially what will happen.
Speaker A: a radio DJ interviewer since: Speaker A:So I've been, I had to kind of go through a lot of that on the radio side.
Speaker A:So when I did the YouTube channel, it wasn't as big of a learning curve.
Speaker A:But the little man, like the cameras and trying to figure out like, oh, like I, I still let people smoke on the podcast if they insist.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:But like if people smoke on the podcast, it's hard to get it monetized.
Speaker A:Tick Tock takes it down.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:You'd prefer people not smoke, but if it's like like Baby Kia was just here, who's like autistic maybe.
Speaker A:I'm not gonna tell Baby Kia you can't smoke.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:This is an interesting guy.
Speaker D:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And he seemed like he realized like, yo, go ahead buddy, go.
Speaker A:Go for it.
Speaker A:I doubt this is Getting monetized anyway, because, you know, we talk about some crazy.
Speaker A:You.
Speaker B:And when it goes to that, like, to talking about crazy, like, the monetizing, all that, like.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah, I'll talk about anything.
Speaker A:I mean, dude, the podcast that we're about to drop with Mexican ot, probably he's gonna come out Monday or Tuesday, is one of the most cancelable, disrespectful, insane podcasts I've ever done.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because since the last time he was on.
Speaker A:So do you guys know who Thomas is from dope as Yola?
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:So that's the homie.
Speaker A:So we did an interview with ot.
Speaker A:OT is one of my.
Speaker A:He's like my little brother.
Speaker A:Like, I love him.
Speaker A:Me and his dad are really close.
Speaker A:Ot's like, I'll.
Speaker A:That's my dog.
Speaker A:Yeah, I've been to his nana's house.
Speaker A:Like, so we did an interview, like, last year, and it just was a show.
Speaker A:It was him.
Speaker A:I had Yellow Wolf in the background standing there drinking.
Speaker A:It was me, ot, ot's dad, Yola.
Speaker A:And, like, I forget who it was.
Speaker A:The most random.
Speaker A:So me and his dad split an eighth of shrooms right before the podcast.
Speaker A:A whole eighth.
Speaker A:I mean, Yola shows up with a dab rig.
Speaker B:There we go.
Speaker A:So this whole podcast is a party.
Speaker A:Well, when I tell you I'm blast, I'm, like, looking at them like this, but in my peripheral, it's a campsite with a fire.
Speaker A:Oh, man.
Speaker A:So I'm thinking we're, like, sitting next to a lake.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:That's awesome.
Speaker B:That's a good time.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:But his dad started crying in an interview.
Speaker A:He had to, like, stand up and walk out.
Speaker A:He got real, but OT fell on the ground after taking a dab.
Speaker A:It was hilarious.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:Crazy.
Speaker A:So we just did another one.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And I was like, yo, we.
Speaker A:We, like, YOLA came back, and it was not as out of control in terms of, like, the amount of drugs we were on.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:But, like, we literally were just getting high and dabbing for, like, three hours straight on camera.
Speaker B:You take dabs yourself?
Speaker A:I'm not a big dabber, but I.
Speaker A:I always dab with them.
Speaker A:I smoke that dab shit's different, man.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah, no, that's crazy.
Speaker A:If you hit a hot one, bro.
Speaker B:That you're gonna need some milk.
Speaker B:I'm not much of a tree.
Speaker B:Tree smoker.
Speaker B:Like, I'll smoke.
Speaker B:You know, I'll roll up every now and then if somebody does.
Speaker A:But no, the dab is violent, man.
Speaker A:It's Violent.
Speaker B:It's a different Throw me on fire.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's the thing.
Speaker A:And then, like, I, like, I want to hit it like it's a joint.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, that's my problem.
Speaker A:But you're not supposed to hit it that way.
Speaker A:They're always like, blow it out, Blow it out.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So, yeah, so, like, we had this.
Speaker A:We just did an interview that was just so wild, dog.
Speaker B:Like, cloudy one.
Speaker A:I had this fool talking to Grok.
Speaker A:Like, sex talking Grok, like, live on the show.
Speaker C:Looking forward to seeing that one.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:Yeah, but, like, you know, so we're.
Speaker A:What we want to do is we're like, yo, this is the second time we've done this.
Speaker A:We should do, like, once a month or once every, like, two months.
Speaker A:Me, Drody, ot, and.
Speaker A:And Yola.
Speaker A:Almost like Joe Rogan does, like, protect your parks.
Speaker A:Every.
Speaker A:Yeah, I'm like, we should just do this, like, every two months for.
Speaker A:Where we just all get high as.
Speaker B:And come back together.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker D:How was that a hunting trip that you.
Speaker D:You went on?
Speaker A:That was sick.
Speaker A:Yeah, I was in Bay City, OT's hometown, and, you know, I'm not a big hunter, actually.
Speaker A:I've never hunted in my life.
Speaker B:So that was your first time right there?
Speaker D:That must have been an experience.
Speaker A:It was fun, man.
Speaker B:First time shooting as well, or was that.
Speaker A:No, no, I've shot before, but in terms of, like, killing an animal, Never done it.
Speaker B:Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker A:It was interesting.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:But they made me feel good about it.
Speaker A:They're like, look, these are invasive species.
Speaker A:They kill dogs, they kill pets.
Speaker A:They.
Speaker A:My head.
Speaker A:I'm like, well, I'm gonna save me a dog.
Speaker A:Lazy.
Speaker C:You up.
Speaker A:Fuck these.
Speaker A:I told him, though.
Speaker A:I said, I ain't shooting a coyote.
Speaker A:I said, if we see coyotes, I ain't shooting it, because that looks like a dog to me.
Speaker B:Yeah, coyotes, they do damage, though.
Speaker A:Coyotes, a little baby dog, bruh.
Speaker A:They'll do some damage.
Speaker C:No, it was cool.
Speaker A:I mean, it was like.
Speaker A:Like literally hanging out of a helicopter.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:That's crazy.
Speaker B:Shooting a.
Speaker B:I've seen the videos, like, on, you know, Tick Tock.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's wild.
Speaker A:It was wild.
Speaker C:It was nice.
Speaker C:I remember when you dropped it, I watched it, and I even wanted to ask about that because even that one's one of your most popular videos on YouTube.
Speaker C:Seeing your vlog with NBA.
Speaker C:Yeah, one of the most popular.
Speaker C:You just had that one in Thailand.
Speaker C:That was a great vlog.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I'm gonna start vlogging a lot more.
Speaker C:What got you into that.
Speaker C:Where's it going with that?
Speaker A:Yeah, so I think that's kind of like.
Speaker A:We actually just kind of reformed my team a little bit on the pod side.
Speaker A:So we could just do more vlogs.
Speaker A:Like, I want to do like one a month.
Speaker A:I'm about to go do one.
Speaker A:I just told you guys.
Speaker A:With somebody near where you guys are at.
Speaker A:And then.
Speaker A:Yeah, we just did.
Speaker A:Like, I just dropped kind of a vlog interview.
Speaker A:Like, we went to DDG stream last yesterday.
Speaker D:How was that, man?
Speaker D:Like in that streaming?
Speaker A:Dude, that is crazy.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker B:Was that your first stream you did?
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Like, DDG is my boy, you know?
Speaker A:Like, so I.
Speaker A:He's like a YouTube pioneer.
Speaker A:He is.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:That's crazy.
Speaker A:And so now he's like, he.
Speaker A:But he's newer in the streaming.
Speaker A:Yeah, but just to go and see like that whole.
Speaker A:It's a whole other world.
Speaker C:It's a whole production.
Speaker A:Like, his shit is insane.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, if you guys go watch it on my YouTube channel, like, we do a whole behind the scenes of like his production setup and.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So he just Airbnb to crib and there's like cameras all over the house.
Speaker B:I mean, I seen the guys come.
Speaker A:Yeah, there's a control room.
Speaker A:There's a fucking control room.
Speaker A:It's pretty sick.
Speaker A:But yeah, so like, we did like a vlog ish version of what we saw yesterday.
Speaker A:And I'm just do more vlogs.
Speaker A:Like, you know, that's.
Speaker A:The Thailand one was cool because it wasn't artist driven and it still did like 50k.
Speaker A:I was like, oh, well, this is kind of cool.
Speaker A:Like, this was just me like off in Thailand for two weeks.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:So I want to.
Speaker A:We definitely going to start doing more shit.
Speaker A:Like I'm gonna go to.
Speaker A:Me and OT are going to do another one where we go mudding.
Speaker B:TVs and all that.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then he has.
Speaker A:He has like six cars he wants us to blow up.
Speaker A:He's like, y gotta.
Speaker A:He's like, I got these six cars.
Speaker A:My boy, he's got a spot.
Speaker A:He's like, we can blow up.
Speaker A:He's like, we can see for him.
Speaker A:We'll like, we'll wire them and we'll blow them up.
Speaker A:I was like, clear.
Speaker A:So that'll be sick.
Speaker A:I want to go do like a tour of Currency's cars.
Speaker B:Oh yeah, he's got a collection.
Speaker C:His.
Speaker A:His manager said like, yo, come.
Speaker A:If you come to New Orleans, we can shoot that.
Speaker A:Like, I want to just start doing more cool.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:It's fun and it's different, man.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And then.
Speaker A:And then we're gonna start doing just different on the channel that aren't.
Speaker A:That isn't necessarily art.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:So that's kind of like the new pivot I'm gonna start.
Speaker A:We just.
Speaker A:Just literally made some changes to my pod team.
Speaker A:Not like anything bad or anything, but just switched up some structures and we're gonna do some different.
Speaker A:For sure.
Speaker A:Like, I got new, like, two new sets I'm building out.
Speaker A:Might.
Speaker A:I don't know if I'm gonna do the streaming, bro.
Speaker C:Yeah, no, I wanted to ask about that because we saw in the.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:In the DDG interview slash vlog, you were talking about possibly dipping into that world.
Speaker C:I wanted to see what your thoughts were.
Speaker A:I don't know, man.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:I just don't know.
Speaker A:I don't know what I would.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:It feels like a young man's game.
Speaker A:And I'm 38, dog.
Speaker A:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker A:Like, I don't know.
Speaker A:I think, like, the most organic thing I could do.
Speaker A:And I was thinking, like, okay, I wouldn't mind doing more News Driven, where I get my opinion on something that's going on.
Speaker A:Nothing messy.
Speaker A:Because I don't like to get into the messy.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Or like, listening to an album first.
Speaker A:Like, on, like.
Speaker A:Because I have a YouTube community.
Speaker A:So if I did a live stream on YouTube, let's say a big album's anticipated.
Speaker A:I know academics kind of does it, but I don't think academics has, like, the hip hop chops.
Speaker A:Like, I do.
Speaker A:Respectfully, you know, like, and I wouldn't even.
Speaker A:He's not going to listen to a Larry June album on stream, but I think that might be a, like, a little, like, I want to do different for sure, because the interview is cool.
Speaker A:But it's like, at the end of the day, there's only so many times you can interview somebody.
Speaker A:So it's like.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then bringing people into.
Speaker A:It's like, cool.
Speaker A:Well, like, I'm doing whiz in a week, two weeks.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:But it's like, if I had a stream or I had a different type of show, I could bring whiz on that isn't just a podcast.
Speaker A:Like, we could do something like that, you know, like, so I don't know.
Speaker A:I'm trying to figure.
Speaker A:The streaming is interesting.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:I would do it on YouTube.
Speaker A:It is.
Speaker A:I just don't know.
Speaker A:I don't know how sustainable it is.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's a different long term.
Speaker C:It's cracking right now.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker D:The younger crowd.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker A:But I'm saying, like, it's cracking right now.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's gonna be cracking in three years.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker C:Will the content style even be the same?
Speaker C:Because right now, you've seen it's a lot of, like, product provocative clip, farming type.
Speaker A:All that clip is.
Speaker C:It's.
Speaker A:To me, it's like, I get it, but.
Speaker A:But, you know, the one thing I don't understand, like, I had.
Speaker A:My homie is one of the producers on Neon's.
Speaker A:Whatever Neon's got going on.
Speaker C:Okay?
Speaker A:And he was like, yo, we should do an IRL thing.
Speaker A:I think it would help, like, push your brand and all this other shit.
Speaker A:And I was like, buddy, one, I don't want to get canceled.
Speaker A:Two, I am.
Speaker A:There's just a certain amount of my life.
Speaker A:Like, I am.
Speaker A:I don't want the world to see.
Speaker A:I don't.
Speaker A:I don't.
Speaker A:I don't personally want people too invested in me.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, the way people are invested in Adam, 22, and, like, all the drama and his girl and all that.
Speaker C:Relationships.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:I'm just good, dog.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I'm straight.
Speaker A:Stay out of that.
Speaker A:It's a lot like, I don't want that, like, at all.
Speaker D:You protected your image, like, for thus long, too.
Speaker A:Yeah, I don't want none of that, bro.
Speaker A:Like, you know, like.
Speaker A:And I'll, you know, that's why, like, I've known Adam forever, and anybody who knows Adam, like, should not be surprised that.
Speaker A:That they have threesomes and he let a dude bang his chick.
Speaker A:Like, it's like, this is what they do.
Speaker A:They've been doing porn for ever, dog.
Speaker A:Like, yeah, these fools are porn stars.
Speaker D:As soon as he started to get into the porn space, I completely, like, I watched with a little bit of videos before he, like, really started.
Speaker A:But even before that, even before plug talk, they were.
Speaker A:He was his girl on.
Speaker A:On.
Speaker A:On.
Speaker A:I would see him and be like, dog, why am I on pornhub and I see your dick, you know?
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:But this is, like, he's comfortable with that.
Speaker A:That's his world.
Speaker A:I could never.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Not even on the.
Speaker A:Like, I can't even disrespect him and his girl's relationship because I.
Speaker A:I mean, you know, love is love.
Speaker A:Like, it is what it is.
Speaker A:Like, you could judge him if you want, but just the messy.
Speaker A:I'm good, dog.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:Too much.
Speaker A:I don't want.
Speaker A:No, I don't.
Speaker A:I don't need Security.
Speaker A:I don't want security.
Speaker A:I don't want to go out and be like, somebody thinks that I.
Speaker A:Yeah, that will be playing a lot, man.
Speaker A:And I'm like, hey, man.
Speaker A:You know, And I always say, like, Adam's a good guy.
Speaker A:That's my guy, you know?
Speaker A:Like, yeah, but he be playing a lot with this.
Speaker A:With this other.
Speaker A:I'm like, dog, couldn't be me.
Speaker A:Couldn't be me.
Speaker A:I'd be too stressed to be with it.
Speaker A:With all this gang talk.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Everything that comes with it.
Speaker C:No, keep me out of it.
Speaker B:He loves it, though.
Speaker A:No, for sure.
Speaker A:And it's.
Speaker A:And it works.
Speaker A:I watch the.
Speaker A:What are we talking about?
Speaker C:You know, it's provocative.
Speaker A:As soon as the big you happened, I was like, yo, I gotta watch what the.
Speaker A:Going on with.
Speaker C:No joke.
Speaker A:Let me watch this first show to see what's up with Brick, baby.
Speaker C:Then he gets looped into the whole.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:No, it's crazy.
Speaker A:It's a crazy thing.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's wild, you know, And.
Speaker A:But yeah, I think for me, it's just like, I'm not.
Speaker A:I'm not.
Speaker A:I just.
Speaker A:There's certain, like, one.
Speaker A:I know.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:I come from a different background, you know, So I understand, like, what comes with a lot of shit, you know?
Speaker A:Like, I grew up in.
Speaker A:In the.
Speaker A:In a horrible area.
Speaker A:My whole family's in prison.
Speaker A:You know, My uncles were bikers.
Speaker A:My cousins were all jack boys or dope dealers.
Speaker A:Like, I understand what comes with this, and it's prison time and death.
Speaker A:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker A:So I don't like to around with that too much.
Speaker A:You know, it's like I'm gonna supposed to go meet with EBK jbo.
Speaker A:And like, I tell you what I'm not gonna do.
Speaker A:Talk to him about his beef with.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:You know, I'm not talking about none of that because I'm friends with MB now.
Speaker A:Like, I'm not.
Speaker A:I'm not bringing that up.
Speaker D:Yeah, for real.
Speaker A:Go watch Swamp Stories.
Speaker C:There's an account for that, you know?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, that I'm gonna try to just like, kick it with this fool and show everybody is not a serial killer.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:Like, oh, look, this guy is a normal dude.
Speaker A:Maybe.
Speaker C:Maybe.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:You know?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:And that's dope.
Speaker C:That's dope.
Speaker A:But yeah, it's like.
Speaker A:Yeah, like, I'm.
Speaker A:I ain't tripping.
Speaker A:Like, I keep those views, you know?
Speaker A:I know I could get more views.
Speaker A:I can stir up all kinds of.
Speaker A:I'm good Bro, why would you.
Speaker A:You.
Speaker C:Yeah, why would you wanna.
Speaker A:I mean, people.
Speaker A:You know, there's money in that dog.
Speaker A:For real.
Speaker A:It's like, there is money in that.
Speaker A:You know, there's a reason why, like, Swamp Stories has a big channel.
Speaker D:Hell, yeah.
Speaker A:That dude's smart, though.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because nobody knows what he looks like.
Speaker D:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:It keeps it under raps.
Speaker C:Who?
Speaker A:All those channels where you don't see the person.
Speaker A:They're smart.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because it doesn't matter, but they're connected somehow.
Speaker D:They know every single little fact.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:That dude is.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:He be trolling people, too.
Speaker C:He starts.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:You see what he's.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:The EVK people, everybody.
Speaker C:Like, he starts trolling him in.
Speaker A:He was going at this little kid in Fresno I'm supposed to interview.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, baby.
Speaker A:Is this is it?
Speaker A:He just DM me today.
Speaker A:I'll tell you.
Speaker C:What's his name?
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:He's the one in the barbershop.
Speaker A:The Fresno Bulldog.
Speaker C:Oh, Fresno.
Speaker A:His name is Faye300.
Speaker C:Oh.
Speaker A:Dumb guys.
Speaker A:Like, that's why I'm like, yo, why, like, Trap Lord Ross is tripping.
Speaker A:Like, this fool should have just stayed in the uk.
Speaker A:This was doing rap videos with Adam and Brick, baby.
Speaker A:And I'm like, full.
Speaker A:Like, you're tripping.
Speaker A:Like, you're a UK dude.
Speaker A:Just stay over there.
Speaker A:You had a maid, like, you know, I think, who does a good job of doing the news stories that I like.
Speaker A:I've been watching Flaco's channel a lot.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker D:Yep.
Speaker A:Flaco's been a good, like, all the.
Speaker A:That's going on in the streets or like, like with this indictment and the yellow beasy.
Speaker A:Like, I just watch Flaco.
Speaker A:He does a good job of breaking it down, reading through the things, and I feel like he does it in a not too disrespectful way where he's just reporting the news.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:Do you yourself have any, like, favorite podcasts?
Speaker D:Like, as far as, like.
Speaker A:Yeah, on YouTube, if I'm gonna watch some.
Speaker A:About, like, some drama, I'll watch Flocko or.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I really don't watch the hood documentaries, bro.
Speaker A:I can't do it.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:If it's about some people I know, maybe, like, I just watched one, like, six months ago because I knew everybody and I kind of knew it was actually happening.
Speaker A:And I was like, I wonder how, like, how spot on this is.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:In terms of podcasts, man, I.
Speaker A:With Joe Rogan, obviously.
Speaker C:Definitely.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:I love.
Speaker D:What about Fig Community World.
Speaker D:You tapped in with them.
Speaker A:I mean, those are the homies.
Speaker A:I don't I don't really watch their.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Sometimes.
Speaker A:Like, my guy AD just did a podcast with Problem and Glasses Malone right around the time Snoop's album dropped.
Speaker A:And I love that episode that was fire.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A:I think, Yeah.
Speaker A:I think I like Community with Pun and AD together.
Speaker A:I watch that a lot more than I watch Figmunity.
Speaker D:Oh, for sure.
Speaker A:I liked Figmunity a lot more when Mac Wap was on there.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker D:He's a character.
Speaker C:No, definitely, definitely.
Speaker A:Yeah, I don't really watch.
Speaker A:I mean, honestly, I listen to a lot of sports podcasts.
Speaker A:Bill Simmons, Kevin.
Speaker A:Kevin o' Connor, who's a NBA podcaster, Colin Cow Herd.
Speaker A:Any fantasy football I watch, I listen to.
Speaker A:And then on the music side, there's Chris Williamson, has a dope podcast that's just about like self help.
Speaker A:And he's super dope.
Speaker A:If you're like, just like a dude and you just need like some interesting conversations.
Speaker A:I listen to Lex Friedman, depending on who he's got on his show.
Speaker A:In terms of like hip hop, I would say I catch Joe Budding shit every once in a while.
Speaker C:It's all over Twitter, though.
Speaker C:X now, but.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:I watched those clips.
Speaker A:If I'm on a road trip though, man, I'm probably just.
Speaker A:Oh, Tim Dillon.
Speaker A:Tim Dillon's my favorite.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A:Yeah, that motherfucker's hilarious.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah, Flagrance.
Speaker A:My flagrance.
Speaker C:Hilarious.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Flagrant with Andrew and Akash is my.
Speaker A:But yeah, if I'm on a road trip, man, I'm banging out like Bill Simmons podcast about sports or like a three hour banger that Rogan has, depending on who he talks to.
Speaker A:That will be talking to a lot of just fools I don't agree with now.
Speaker A:So it's like gotta pick and choose.
Speaker C:I feel that.
Speaker A:But yeah, but I would say.
Speaker A:And then there's a show on YouTube I watch called Breaking Points, which is a news, like a political news show that's like shows both sides of the crystal and saga are the hosts.
Speaker A:So they show like crystals, like super liberal saga, super conservative.
Speaker A:And then they do the news together.
Speaker A:So you get both kind of perspectives, if that makes sense.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker C:Okay, that's interesting.
Speaker C:Yeah, that's dope.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:I try not to watch too much hip hop podcast, to be honest.
Speaker A:Just.
Speaker A:I'm living this.
Speaker C:Yeah, that's what I was gonna say.
Speaker C:You're living in it, right?
Speaker A:Yeah, it just depends too.
Speaker A:Like, if it's like if I'm interviewing somebody and I'm like, oh, let me see if they did some recently Let me go watch some like.
Speaker A:Yeah, like brush up on them.
Speaker A:Like I with Willie or with Wally and Gillo.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Millions of dollars worth of game is dope.
Speaker A:Obviously.
Speaker A:The Breakfast Club's a breakfast club.
Speaker A:I like the Big Facts podcast out of Atlanta.
Speaker A:My guy Danza's dope.
Speaker C:Oh yeah.
Speaker C:No Danzas in Miami for sure.
Speaker A:Trying to think who else in the hip hop space.
Speaker A:There's a dude in the Bay who does the history of the Bay Dragon.
Speaker C:Yeah, Dregs one.
Speaker C:He's fire.
Speaker C:His heart's fire.
Speaker A:I like his in la.
Speaker A:In la, I do watch no Jumper a lot, actually.
Speaker A:I wouldn't say a lot.
Speaker A:When there's like some peak, no Jumper drama going on, I'll be like, I'll take him, you know.
Speaker A:Well, I like him and Wax.
Speaker A:I like Adam and Wax show a of lot lot.
Speaker A:That shit's great.
Speaker A:Like Whack is incredibly entertaining as a personality.
Speaker C:So they're entertaining for sure.
Speaker A:Yeah, Whack is great.
Speaker A:And like, you know, how do you feel about Adam?
Speaker A:Like, Adam's a great conversationalist.
Speaker A:So it's like I could watch him and Whack go back and forth about forever.
Speaker A:Big Boy's a legend.
Speaker A:I love Big Boy.
Speaker C:Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Big Boy's that for sure.
Speaker A:But yeah, I would say like mostly is non music.
Speaker A:It's sports or it's like news or like aliens or, you know, I don't know, just.
Speaker A:I'm just interested in learning new.
Speaker A:Like I just watched a whole interview with somebody about what was in the JFK files and they broke down like why Israel was probably involved.
Speaker C:Yeah, that shit's crazy.
Speaker A:But yeah, yeah, I would say most of the I watch isn't music.
Speaker A:I would say maybe 20 of my consumption of content that isn't like TV is, is, is is music.
Speaker A:Outside of that, it's other shit.
Speaker A:I'm a big sports fan though, so I listen to hella sports talk.
Speaker A:Like hella, hella, hella sports.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker C:Okay, I feel that.
Speaker C:And you know, you were talking earlier about even diversifying some of the content you're trying to do.
Speaker C:We also see that you've diversified your, you know, your portfolio in entrepreneurship and your businesses.
Speaker C:You got what's up though?
Speaker C:You got season, correct?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Ready, set the label right.
Speaker C:So many different entrepreneurship avenues you've gone down.
Speaker C:Can you kind of talk us through those and kind of how they led, how they've intersected?
Speaker A:Yeah, I mean, look, you know, a lot of it all has to do with just like, you know, I Realized, like, my studio was the first big thing I opened where I was, like, putting up big money and, like, taking a really big, big, big risk, like signing a lease, having, like, crazy rant.
Speaker A:And in my head, I was just like, damn.
Speaker A:Like, all.
Speaker A:I had a couple of homies who were engineers, and we were working out of this building with my artist Alexis, and my boy Casey, and the studio.
Speaker A:I was just like, yo, how much does this fool pay for this, like, spot?
Speaker A:Like, I'm just curious, you know?
Speaker A:And he told me.
Speaker A:I was like, that's not crazy.
Speaker A:You know, in my head, I'm like, well, I always have artists come to town and always ask me for studio.
Speaker A:Like, yo, I would interview somebody at the radio station.
Speaker A:Like, yo, you gotta plug on a studio out here.
Speaker A:Where should we go?
Speaker A:Whatever, Whatever.
Speaker A:So I'm like, well, I'll just open my own and I'll just send them to my.
Speaker A:You know.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so that's what I did.
Speaker A:Then I talked y' all early about it with the Pandemic, and so that worked very well.
Speaker A:And then the podcast, I mean, the label thing's been a thing.
Speaker A:I've been working with a kid named Alexis for a minute.
Speaker A:He used to go by Brown Boy Maj, but his name is Alexis.
Speaker A:He was with me on the stream yesterday.
Speaker C:Yeah, he's dope.
Speaker C:He's at Empire, right?
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:He's got.
Speaker A:He's got a record with.
Speaker A:With.
Speaker A:No, not from.
Speaker A:He's got.
Speaker A:He's got a record with him being Now.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:And with your record label, are you trying to just have him as the artist?
Speaker B:Are you trying to gain more artists?
Speaker A:I had other artists.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:That I was working with and actually had some company buy out their deals and sign them away for me.
Speaker A:Shots at Ethical Music.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:They dropped a bag.
Speaker A:Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker A:These fools dropping the bag.
Speaker A:I'm like, cool, dog.
Speaker A:Like, I ain't tripping.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:That's what you want?
Speaker A:Business is business.
Speaker A:Yes, sir.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, I would sign other artists, you know, for me, it's just about, like, you know, the responsibility of having an artist under you is you're, like, responsible for their career, you know, so it's like.
Speaker A:That's a lot, dude.
Speaker A:You know?
Speaker A:So it's like, I don't want to just, like, sign fools just to do it, because that's not fair.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So are you very involved in your.
Speaker B:With your artists?
Speaker A:Super involved, yeah.
Speaker C:Super.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:He's recording here all the time.
Speaker A:I'm getting like, we Just, we're shooting a video with Lefty next week.
Speaker A:His new records got Lefty on.
Speaker A:He's got a record with Greedo on the way.
Speaker A:Yeah, he's already.
Speaker A:I mean, he's got a top 50 song of radio right now in the country.
Speaker B:He's out of Arizona as well, right?
Speaker A:Yeah, he's been out here for a minute.
Speaker A:But he's from Phoenix.
Speaker A:Yeah, he just did a powerhouse in Phoenix front like for 20, 000 people.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Three One Zero and Cactus Boys.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker C:Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker C:That was dope.
Speaker A:Yeah, so, yeah, so that's one thing, obviously.
Speaker A:And then the club was two of my best friends.
Speaker A:I'm a dj, you know, so I'm club.
Speaker A:I mean, I don't DJ in the club anymore as much as I used to because, like, I don't have to, you know.
Speaker A:But you know, my main guys in Arizona, who, I mean, been working with since I was 18, they're like, yo, we.
Speaker A:My boy Corey was like, yo, we got an opportunity to grab this club.
Speaker A:It used to be called Paris.
Speaker A:And then we talked about the bread, how much was needed at the time.
Speaker A:I was sitting on a lot of money and I was like, well, it makes sense to me.
Speaker A:So we were like, if we can get this club open and functioning before the super bowl comes to Phoenix.
Speaker A: And that was in February,: Speaker A:Like, we're gonna make a killing.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A: ned New Year's eve going into: Speaker A:By the time super bowl came, we damn near made a million dollars that weekend.
Speaker A:Yeah, I mean, obviously it's not.
Speaker A:It's not all profit, you know?
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:But it's still life changing, but like.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah, to say the least.
Speaker A:I mean, we had to pay like artists.
Speaker A:We had Meek Mill.
Speaker A:It was when the Eagles and Chiefs were playing each other the first time.
Speaker A:So we booked Meek on Saturday.
Speaker A:We booked Offsetting Cardi B.
Speaker A:Friday.
Speaker A:Thursday was fab, Sunday was YG and DJ Drama.
Speaker A:But that was crazy.
Speaker C:Full cracking.
Speaker A:That was just like that one weekend got us all our bread back.
Speaker A:That's crazy.
Speaker A:So the club was my friends, you know, So I was like, yeah, let's.
Speaker A:I'd love to do stuff with my friends.
Speaker A:And then we opened a restaurant together called well Seasoned.
Speaker A:Because the space next door to the club opened up and we're like, yo, we should just grab it so some other Karen ass neighbor don't come through.
Speaker A:So we grab the restaurant.
Speaker A:So, you know, we have a restaurant and a lounge.
Speaker A:And then when people are in the club, they can order food from next door, and then, you know, we bring the food over to them to their table or whatever.
Speaker A:So that's why we open.
Speaker A:Well seasoned.
Speaker A:And then the pizza place.
Speaker A:The pizza place was a great, great location right across the street from Porto's in Burbank.
Speaker A:And, you know, my partner at the time was a big pizza guy.
Speaker A:No longer my partner, but, yeah, big pizza guy.
Speaker A:And it made sense.
Speaker A:I had to buy his ass out, but, yeah, so the pizza spot, I mean, it's pizza, man.
Speaker A:I love pizza.
Speaker A:I live in Burbank.
Speaker A:I was like, damn, I live here.
Speaker A:The pizza here sucks.
Speaker A:There's no place you can get good pizza and wings.
Speaker A:So I'm like, I'm a.
Speaker A:Open a place that has pizza and wings, and both are going to be gas, and it's like two minutes away.
Speaker A:No, this is gas.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:Yeah, so that's why.
Speaker A:I mean, that.
Speaker A:And then.
Speaker A:Yeah, and then in terms of.
Speaker A:Yeah, I guess that's really everything.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then, you know, obviously the podcast and, you know.
Speaker A:But yeah, I mean, I think with the entrepreneurial, it's really just, like, doing that makes sense.
Speaker A:That feels good, you know, with people you with.
Speaker A:And then also, like, learning to do.
Speaker A:Just because you with somebody doesn't mean you should do business.
Speaker C:Yeah, no, definitely.
Speaker A:That's what I found out from this pizza place.
Speaker A:I was like, oh, not every.
Speaker A:Like, not everything's so, like, the club shit's been so smooth.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, because, like, in my dogs, you know what I'm saying?
Speaker A:And, like, them fools really are, like, on it.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:And, like, I booked the artists.
Speaker A:I don't live there, you know, so I book.
Speaker A:Book artists, book handle all the dj, take a call here and there.
Speaker A:And then my boys Corey and Davion run everything, so I'm lucky to have those guys, man.
Speaker A:Yeah, because that's just a bag every month, you know, like, the club is smooth, man.
Speaker A:The pizza restaurant has been a headache, but it's.
Speaker A:It's better now.
Speaker A:The headache is gone.
Speaker A:But, yeah, but that, like, that pizza place to show me, like, you just got to be careful who you.
Speaker A:You do business with just because your friend is a miash.
Speaker A:Do restaurant together.
Speaker A:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker C:No, I definitely.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:But yeah, you know, it's like, just doing that feels good.
Speaker A:Makes sense.
Speaker A:Now when people finish the interview, I usually take them to the pizza place.
Speaker A:I'm like, y' all hungry?
Speaker A:Let me take you over.
Speaker A:We're doing Mozzie's album release there.
Speaker A:Oh, hell yeah.
Speaker A:April 18th.
Speaker C:Nice.
Speaker C:Nice.
Speaker A:He's gonna have the Mozzarella Fella his own pizza.
Speaker D:Yeah, he'd be saying that.
Speaker D:That's part of his lingo.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:So he's gonna.
Speaker A:We got that custom boxes done.
Speaker A:We're doing a collab with a pizzeria out in Philly called Down north that's coming out here and taking over our restaurant.
Speaker A:They're a pizza spot that only employees ex convicts.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:And then like any of the proceeds from the Mozzarella Fella that gets sold go to this.
Speaker A:This charity that benefits people who get out of prison and tries to help them kind of get their together.
Speaker C:That's awesome.
Speaker C:That's beautiful.
Speaker A:So shout out to Mazzy.
Speaker A:Shout out to the little mellow, the Sacramento Goat.
Speaker C:No, for sure.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Legend.
Speaker A:He's the goat out of sack, right?
Speaker C:Yeah, I mean, yeah, I would say.
Speaker A:So it's like him or brother lynch, right?
Speaker C:Yeah, I guess.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I mean, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:All we see, Brother Lynch, Mozzie.
Speaker D:Yeah, I'd say Mozzy for sure.
Speaker A:Even though he stays out here, which is smart.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Why the would he stay in Sacramento?
Speaker A:He probably dead or prison right now, dude.
Speaker A:Hey, hey, the guys he beefs with, they don't stay out there no more.
Speaker C:Yeah, no, for real.
Speaker A:Yeah, like why would.
Speaker A:Why stay out there and be in the mix with all that?
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:Yeah, but yeah, shout out to Mozzie.
Speaker A:Mazzi's that guy, man.
Speaker C:No, for sure.
Speaker A:Who else is cracking out of sack, DB Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker C:Who else would you guys say right now?
Speaker C:Yeah, numbers wise, I'd say DB about it.
Speaker C:Bag mostly.
Speaker C:I'll be honest.
Speaker C:I listen to a lot of like Bay Area stuff.
Speaker C:I'll be honest.
Speaker C:A lot of Stockton stuff for.
Speaker C:For the most part.
Speaker A:It's what the bay, though.
Speaker C:I like.
Speaker C:I like Yi Bean.
Speaker C:I like a lot of them.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Pete.
Speaker C:I like a lot of them.
Speaker C:I like Raj a lot.
Speaker C:Rex Life Ross.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Listen to a lot of.
Speaker C:Yeah, listen to a lot of Mozzie I with him.
Speaker C:Tough.
Speaker C:I.
Speaker C:Even with like, you know, west side Boogie out here, a lot of that type of too.
Speaker C:So I mean, I'm kind of a little everywhere but with sag, I would say I haven't been listening to too many.
Speaker C:At least hip hop, but when it comes to like R B and stuff.
Speaker C:Marmar.
Speaker C:Oh, so's Fire.
Speaker A:Yeah, Marmar's dope.
Speaker A:He came in here freestyle about his.
Speaker A:He was rapping.
Speaker C:Yeah, no, yeah, we just.
Speaker C:We just had him last.
Speaker C:Last week, so he showed us some.
Speaker C:Some Unreleased on camera and stuff.
Speaker C:And.
Speaker D:He'S hella dude.
Speaker C:This is fire.
Speaker C:We got another one of our boys, Aaron Lee.
Speaker C:Shout out Aaron Lee out of Sacramento.
Speaker C:He has a song right now, Sack Town, that's going.
Speaker A:What is that Music in the park festival thing.
Speaker C:I know.
Speaker A:Is it?
Speaker C:Yeah, it starts back up, I think in what may.
Speaker A:My homie runs a KSFM out there.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Cool.
Speaker C:Usually gets hella cracking in summertime.
Speaker D:Yeah, they had soul bloom, but all that stuff started going down with the cancellations and stuff.
Speaker D:And people haven't even got their money back from last year.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Saying Kehlani, do something.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Well, Brent did it too.
Speaker C:We went to the one Brent was at.
Speaker C:That one was it was.
Speaker B:They both headlined it Y at one day.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:That's a sick ass show.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:Just the venue.
Speaker D:The venue location is.
Speaker B:It's down the open.
Speaker B:He worst time of the year too.
Speaker C:It got flooded.
Speaker C:That last one that he said.
Speaker C:And it's from the same promotion company that brought out Lost in Rhythm, which is like more of the dance hall festival out there too.
Speaker A:Who's the greatest Sacramento King of all time?
Speaker C:My favorite greatest.
Speaker C:The greatest of all time?
Speaker A:The Goat.
Speaker C:The Goat.
Speaker C:Sacramento King.
Speaker C:I'd say though, me, I'm gonna be biased, bro.
Speaker C:I like Chris, Mike Bibby, but Chris Weber.
Speaker A:It's Chris Weber, right?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I like my video.
Speaker C:If I start throwing stuff out like as a kid, bro, for no, for no reason.
Speaker C:I love like Gerald Wallace or like Ronnie Price at a time or Bonzie Wells.
Speaker C:Like I loved Always the Nah, but.
Speaker A:Chris Weber is the.
Speaker D:Mike Bibby about to be the new head coach of.
Speaker A:Yeah, Bibby's up there.
Speaker A:Does boogie creep in?
Speaker A:Boogie over Deer and Fox.
Speaker A:You gotta put Fox because Fox at least won a series.
Speaker A:Y' all lost to the Warriors.
Speaker C:I went, I went to that, that game.
Speaker C:But what I would say is Fox, you have to give it to him because he brought it.
Speaker C:It was like what, a 16 year dry streak?
Speaker C:Something.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:He brought Light the beam.
Speaker C:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker A:So we have for a sec, turn that off.
Speaker C:But I'm not going to lie.
Speaker C:You ask anybody that lives out there over the age of like what, 40 probably.
Speaker C:They all hate DeMarcus.
Speaker C:Oh, he's a punk.
Speaker C:Like that's like the biggest thing.
Speaker A:Well, you guys didn't win with him.
Speaker C:Exactly.
Speaker C:Most Kings fans hate on him, but they don't realize like, bro was averaging 28 and 10.
Speaker A:Bro.
Speaker C:It was just.
Speaker A:So is Bradley Bill on the Wizards right now?
Speaker A:On the Suns, man, he's over here sucking dick.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:How are you feeling about your sons right now?
Speaker A:Terrible.
Speaker C:Terrible.
Speaker C:What do you think is going to happen with kd?
Speaker A:I hope we keep them.
Speaker A:And I mean, look, fuck Bradley Beal.
Speaker A:And I mean that with all due respect, because he's a nice guy.
Speaker A:I don't want to say, like, fuck him personally, but sports fan.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because we should have Jimmy Butler.
Speaker A:He turned down three trades.
Speaker C:Yeah, we would have Butler.
Speaker A:And now the warriors got him.
Speaker A:And the warriors looking all rejuvenated.
Speaker A:I hate the Warriors.
Speaker C:He's the only warriors fan.
Speaker C:So we all talk.
Speaker C:Of course you are.
Speaker A:Why would you be a Kings fan?
Speaker C:No, we don't have.
Speaker D:Would I, man.
Speaker C:Like, we don't have to talk about right now because.
Speaker A:Yeah, no, I think.
Speaker A:I think.
Speaker A:I think that.
Speaker A:I think they're gonna try to keep.
Speaker A:Keep kd.
Speaker A:That should be priority number one.
Speaker A:I think.
Speaker A:If not, they got to trade them and try to get some draft.
Speaker A:Like, we have no draft picks.
Speaker A:But we got to get Bradley Beal.
Speaker A:The out of town, bro, like apples.
Speaker D:And we didn't get that Jimmy trade.
Speaker D:We would have been.
Speaker D:We would have been for sure.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:Katie ain't coming back either.
Speaker A:I would have took the.
Speaker A:Katie.
Speaker A:Hey, the Katie traders that got proposed.
Speaker D:Honestly, I would have took it.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because we would have had.
Speaker A:We would have got Kaminga.
Speaker D:Yep.
Speaker A:Jimmy Butler, I think, like four first round picks.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker D:No, we were offering you at that point.
Speaker A:I took it.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:Give me Jimmy Butler and Kaminga because, yeah, he.
Speaker D:He changed the whole dynamic of that team.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker D:Honestly, we're.
Speaker D:We are looking a little.
Speaker D:We're back.
Speaker D:We're rejuvenated right now.
Speaker D:So it's.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Jimmy Butler's a bad guy, man.
Speaker D:Jimmy G.
Speaker D:Buck is.
Speaker A:He quit on the heat, though.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I don't have a word to say to him.
Speaker C:I hope he doesn't have a word to say to me.
Speaker A:Oh, is that what he said about Pat Riley?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Crazy.
Speaker C:No.
Speaker C:Yeah, that's rough.
Speaker A:But shout out to the Kings, man.
Speaker A:I don't understand how the Kings went from like, being this, like, budding, like, young team where everybody's excited.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then being like, nah.
Speaker C:With the same core too, with the same chord.
Speaker A:It was like, yeah, like, we're good.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, what the fuck?
Speaker C:I mean, you look at it on paper, we improved in the offseason.
Speaker C:Then start the season, it just looks like we didn't.
Speaker C:You know what I'm saying?
Speaker D:Halliburton.
Speaker D:And then you trade away your other.
Speaker C:It's emotional roller Coaster.
Speaker C:I'll tell you, that makes no sense.
Speaker C:Not at all.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then they fired Mike Brown.
Speaker C:But.
Speaker A:But it looked good initially.
Speaker A:Yeah, they were winning.
Speaker C:But that was why they fired him.
Speaker C:I mean, that was why they traded Foxes, because Fox said, you know, if you're gonna.
Speaker C:I'm not playing for another coach other than Mike Brown.
Speaker C:If you're gonna fire him, get rid of me, too.
Speaker C:Get me out of here.
Speaker A:But he even said, that Indian fool gotta sell that team, bro.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker C:I mean, he has jerk Jeremy Lamb and his daughters.
Speaker D:Speculations.
Speaker C:I've seen.
Speaker C:I've seen that.
Speaker C:You said that you DJ for her when she was a pop star singing.
Speaker A:And she was on a little mini tour in Florida, opening up for Kaylin and Miles.
Speaker A:Is that the name of that group?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Damn.
Speaker A:She was opening and I DJ'd like, I think two.
Speaker A:Two dates for her.
Speaker A:She was.
Speaker A:Sweetheart.
Speaker A:God bless her.
Speaker A:Sweetheart, for sure.
Speaker C:Not many people could say that they DJed the ex pop career of an ex G League GM.
Speaker C:Stockton.
Speaker C:That's what I'm trying to say.
Speaker D:There's influence.
Speaker C:And Jeremy Lamb was playing on the Stockton Kings, bro.
Speaker A:So he was piping the gm.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker C:Step down type.
Speaker A:No, I saw that.
Speaker A:Like, they're banging and like, he sits, like, courtside with the dad now.
Speaker C:They'd be holding the hands on courtside, bro.
Speaker C:It's sick.
Speaker C:And you got Natalie Nunn on the other side.
Speaker A:Is Natalie Nunn from Sack?
Speaker C:Yeah, none.
Speaker A:And Stun.
Speaker A:A girl from Sacramento.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker C:Well, she's from, like, the bay, but I guess they live out there or something.
Speaker C:They.
Speaker C:They be in Rose, Yo.
Speaker A:That's crazy.
Speaker A:Yeah, that fool, the Indian fool got to get off that tea, man.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, No, I agree.
Speaker A:Did they fire Vladi Divak yet?
Speaker C:Yeah, no, he stepped down because he said.
Speaker C:He said, if this trade doesn't work in two years, I'll step down or something.
Speaker C:And they looked at him and said, bro, buddy healed ain't amount to get out of here.
Speaker A:Yeah, they that, man.
Speaker A:You want to talk about it?
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:At least the one thing I appreciate about our owner is definitely cheap.
Speaker A:And he's.
Speaker A:I feel like he's trying and he's.
Speaker C:Investing in y' all tough.
Speaker C:Like, even the community.
Speaker C:He's investing in the future of the franchise.
Speaker A:All our food's $2.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, the tea.
Speaker A:The games are on TV for free.
Speaker C:That was sick.
Speaker C:That he also.
Speaker A:We don't care about any of that.
Speaker A:We want to win.
Speaker A:Make the hot dogs fifty dollars and give us a chance.
Speaker A:The two Dollar house.
Speaker A:Every time the Suns lose, there's a son's page and they always post, like a crying Katie emoji.
Speaker A:And it says, at least our hot dogs are $2.
Speaker D:On paper.
Speaker D:You guys look so nice.
Speaker D:So I'm just like, what's going on?
Speaker A:Mike Budenholzer is a bum.
Speaker A:Yeah, he.
Speaker A:I mean, we just went on a four game winning street because he all of a sudden wanted to play the players that we should have been playing the whole time.
Speaker A:Ryan Dunn and Oso.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:Our team sucks.
Speaker A:Our coach is a joke, and I hope they fire him.
Speaker A:And I hope Bradley Beal never suits up again for us.
Speaker C:Respectfully, though.
Speaker A:Respectfully.
Speaker C:Respectfully.
Speaker A:Trade him back to the Wizards for sake.
Speaker A:I'll take Jordan pool.
Speaker A:I don't give a.
Speaker C:He might start cooking on your guys's team.
Speaker C:He doesn't want to be.
Speaker C:He doesn't want to be the first choice.
Speaker A:I don't give a.
Speaker A:Man.
Speaker A:Bring him.
Speaker A:When he was with the Warriors.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:Sometimes you would look at Jordan Pool, you'd be like, is he better than Steph Curry?
Speaker A:Did he shoot better than the bro when he was.
Speaker A:When he was on the Warriors, I was like, isn't as bad.
Speaker A:How did they hit on another guy?
Speaker A:What, though?
Speaker D:The amount of crazy shots he was taking.
Speaker D:He was just mimicking Steph.
Speaker D:Like, he was just literally, like, about to be another prodigy.
Speaker D:But then there was too many questionable.
Speaker A:Jordan pool was on that year.
Speaker A:Y' all won that ring.
Speaker A:I was like, God, this fool's step 2.0.
Speaker C:Let's call a spade a spade.
Speaker C:They had to choose between Draymond and Jordan pool, and they chose Draymond.
Speaker D:Draymond was the glue to that.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:If Draymond goes a team.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:No, they made the right choice for sure.
Speaker A:But he's a heart and soul of that.
Speaker C:Yeah, definitely.
Speaker A:And then Clay over here picked go pick that poor guy with the.
Speaker D:He said he's Dallas.
Speaker A:He wish he would have picked the Lakers.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, I know.
Speaker D:That Luca trade was by far one of the most insane trades ever.
Speaker A:Yeah, bro, that's just all time worst trade.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Top three worst trade of all time.
Speaker C:I didn't believe it was real.
Speaker C:We were all streamed up, like, and kicking it.
Speaker C:We didn't believe it.
Speaker C:We didn't believe it was real.
Speaker C:The next day, we're like, what?
Speaker C:It really happened?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:It's crazy.
Speaker A:That dude, whoever that.
Speaker C:What's that guy's name?
Speaker A:Nico Harris.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:That guy can never.
Speaker A:I don't know, man.
Speaker A:He can probably.
Speaker A:He probably can't go to pub in public.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:Dude, he got death threats.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah?
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:I don't blame him.
Speaker A:If I was a mad fan, I'd have threatened his life too.
Speaker C:That's crazy.
Speaker D:It's crazy too, because Mark Cuban.
Speaker D:Mark Cuban's getting hella backfire on that.
Speaker A:He's like, bro, I ain't got to do with it.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:Found out when y' all found out.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Mark Cuban, man.
Speaker C:And he's.
Speaker C:He's fighting back.
Speaker C:You see him?
Speaker A:No, he's talking paragraphs.
Speaker C:He's like, this is why I got rid of you guys.
Speaker A:Because of you fans.
Speaker A:I was like, fans are so toxic.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Like, damn, bro.
Speaker C:He's subtwing fans out here.
Speaker A:The Mavs are crazy, man.
Speaker A:They're cooked.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:AD got injured in the second game.
Speaker A:First game.
Speaker A:First game.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:I think it was the first game.
Speaker D:I actually do think.
Speaker A:I think it was second.
Speaker A:He got one.
Speaker A:One half.
Speaker C:He did it to Aaron Rodgers, Huh.
Speaker A:I wonder where he's gonna go.
Speaker C:Yeah, see.
Speaker C:Yeah, he's not staying long.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:I'm telling you.
Speaker A:I think that's why he's waiting.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Waiting to sign this with the Steelers because if they don't pay Brock Purdy that are gonna trade him.
Speaker C:That's crazy.
Speaker C:That would be crazy though, to see.
Speaker A:They'Re just gonna sign Aaron Rodgers and figure it out.
Speaker A:They'll sign him for a year.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:Damn.
Speaker A:Otherwise they gotta pay Rock 30 a bag.
Speaker A:I mean, he ain't worth.
Speaker A:He's worth like a Sam Darnold deal.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker C:Like definitely.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:The Niner 2 though.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:I'm not a big Niners.
Speaker C:Who's your football team?
Speaker A:Arizona.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker C:Hey, I was gonna ask you.
Speaker C:We're actually going to Arizona in.
Speaker C:In a couple weeks.
Speaker C:What.
Speaker C:What are the must hits while we're out there?
Speaker C:What for?
Speaker C:For people who aren't from there.
Speaker C:What are the things you've gotta.
Speaker C:Gotta stop by?
Speaker C:Obviously we're gonna stop by 11.
Speaker C:11.
Speaker C:We gotta.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:I would say, man, really just depends on what you want to get down with, man.
Speaker A:I mean we got.
Speaker A:Arizona's like beautiful like for hiking and.
Speaker A:And there's like cool ass mountains and.
Speaker A:And if you drive like an hour north, there's Sedona, which is like one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker D:I check that out for sure.
Speaker A:And then like in the city, you know, just go downtown.
Speaker A:There's great food, man.
Speaker A:Amazing food.
Speaker A:Try to go to a Diamondbacks game.
Speaker A:Try to go to a son's game before two weeks, probably our season will be over.
Speaker D:No more playing for y' all.
Speaker D:Where.
Speaker A:I think we're the 10 seed right now though.
Speaker A:Aren't.
Speaker A:Are you guys out of the play in yet?
Speaker A:The like.
Speaker D:Oh, they're ninth.
Speaker C:Yeah, I think we're in the playing, but we're.
Speaker C:We're teetering.
Speaker C:We're.
Speaker C:We're close to be walking a line.
Speaker A:Out of there for sure.
Speaker A:We'll probably end up do.
Speaker A:Is it.
Speaker A:Is the 9 and 10 seed play first?
Speaker D:I think so.
Speaker A:10 and 9 and then they go.
Speaker C:On to play the winner.
Speaker C:Yeah, the winner I think goes into play.
Speaker C:Well, I think.
Speaker C:Is it.
Speaker C:Is it the same way where like the opposites ten plays?
Speaker C:Whatever.
Speaker C:Whatever.
Speaker C:But yeah, I think no, it's seven.
Speaker A:Eight, nine and ten.
Speaker A:That all right.
Speaker A:The top six seeds make it okay.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:And there's seven play.
Speaker C:Ten play each other.
Speaker A:No, I think I forget how they do it.
Speaker A:They make the really shitty teams win two games just to get a chance.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:So you would have.
Speaker A:I forget how they do it.
Speaker A:So I think the 7 seed plays the.
Speaker A:So I think it's the 9 and the 10 seed play each other.
Speaker A:Whoever wins that goes and plays the eighth seed.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then the seven seed will play only one game to have to get in.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Whoever wins that second game.
Speaker A:But yeah, we'll see.
Speaker A:But yeah, if you're going to Arizona, go to like.
Speaker A:I mean there's great food, man.
Speaker A:Great Mexican food.
Speaker A:Mexican food on anything in Northern California.
Speaker A:Damn, not even close.
Speaker A:I've been in the Mission District.
Speaker A:I've been all over the is weak up there.
Speaker A:I mean it's not terrible.
Speaker A:You find good Mexican food anywhere.
Speaker A:Like on the west coast if you look hard enough.
Speaker A:But like in Arizona you can fall and hit it, you know, like.
Speaker A:Yeah, I mean there's like go to like Tempe Mil Ave is cool.
Speaker A:Like the college street is pretty sick.
Speaker A:Old town Scottsdale's got all the bars and clubs and that's where my club's at.
Speaker A:That.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's really just eating dog and there's hella out there full like there's nothing but hoes out in Arizona.
Speaker D:What about your club?
Speaker A:You got nothing but hoes?
Speaker C:Hey, hoes on.
Speaker C:Hoes on hoes.
Speaker A:It is like the whole capital of the west coast.
Speaker C:That's what I've heard.
Speaker A:Scottsdale, Arizona is like the west coast Miami for that's what I heard.
Speaker C:I heard it's turning into like the go to spot like Vegas or LA as much they're going to.
Speaker A:So we have, like, a little entertainment.
Speaker A:Name a district in old town Scottsdale.
Speaker A:That's cracking.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:So, yeah, there's just hella.
Speaker A:And they're all horny.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:I mean, I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah, especially if you like snow bunnies.
Speaker A:Jesus.
Speaker A:But there's.
Speaker A:Hello.
Speaker A:There's beautiful Latin women there.
Speaker A:Go to Jaguars.
Speaker A:The strip club is, in my opinion, the best strip club on the west coast.
Speaker A:And anybody.
Speaker A:Pilo will tell you it's the best strip club on the west coast.
Speaker A:Shows G E Z will tell you it's the best troupe.
Speaker A:I mean, I brought hella bay fools through there.
Speaker A:Like, Pilo is upset, bro.
Speaker A:Oh, geezy.
Speaker A:And Shoreline Mafia, one of their new songs that's about to drop.
Speaker A:They name drop Jaguars in it.
Speaker A:I brought all those fools through there.
Speaker A:So jags.
Speaker A:You got to go to jags.
Speaker A:If you like strip clubs, go to Jaguars.
Speaker A:Yeah, you gotta hit jags, jags, a vibe.
Speaker A:Good food there, too.
Speaker A:Chef Renee, get the shrimp tacos, man, or the wings and fries.
Speaker D:Wings in the strip club.
Speaker C:Yeah, it's the go to meal.
Speaker D:That's what's funny about it.
Speaker A:Do they got strip clubs in Sacramento, bro?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Every time I'm like, anywhere up north and I'm like, yo, should we go to the strip club?
Speaker A:Everyone's like, nah, probably not.
Speaker A:Yeah, this shit's weak, bro.
Speaker C:Yeah, hella weak.
Speaker C:Yeah, it's not.
Speaker C:I wouldn't say it's a big culture out there.
Speaker C:I mean, a lot of them, from what I heard, I mean, we're a little younger, so we.
Speaker C:We didn't see, like, I guess when it was bigger.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker C:A lot of them have closed down in the past, like, couple years.
Speaker C:I know they're trying to bring one back, but I.
Speaker A:They all dance in Vegas, probably.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:You know, so bags at traveling dancers.
Speaker A:I don't know, man.
Speaker A:I think I've been to one strip club in San Francisco.
Speaker A:Gold Club, I think it was called.
Speaker A:It was.
Speaker A:It was.
Speaker A:Whatever it was.
Speaker A:A lot of white in there, dancing like they're on Grand Theft Auto.
Speaker C:Sounds about right.
Speaker A:Nickelback.
Speaker C:And that's hilarious.
Speaker A:Not my vibes, but yeah.
Speaker A:Nah, but yeah, man.
Speaker A:What, what, what.
Speaker A:How long y' all been doing this?
Speaker C:Since.
Speaker C:Well, we've.
Speaker C:We've been out and live since August, but we did it for.
Speaker C:What would you guys say, about a year, year and a half, before we even went live.
Speaker A:Oh, really?
Speaker C:Yeah, we built up our set.
Speaker C:Just tried to.
Speaker C:To kind of learn a little bit.
Speaker A:You know, like, just with Y' all.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker C:Yeah, we would kind of just, you know, shoot different episodes and stuff, like, just try to be creative with the different segments, do different topics.
Speaker C:And then our first season was more of like a foundational season where we just kind of talked amongst ourselves about different things and we talked with some.
Speaker C:Y' all grow up together?
Speaker A:What?
Speaker C:Yeah, long time friends, like, since kids.
Speaker A:Like, Fire.
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker C:Sandbox type.
Speaker C:So, yeah, we just.
Speaker C:Yeah, we talked to people we knew and ourselves for the first season.
Speaker C:And then.
Speaker C:And that's when we started getting talked to with some guests.
Speaker C:And we're like, hey, this next season, we need to, you know, actually chase it.
Speaker C:Let's try to get guests.
Speaker C:Let's make sure, you know, we're coming with new topics every week.
Speaker C:New.
Speaker A:So how often you guys drop?
Speaker C:Once a week.
Speaker C:Yeah, we're gonna be rolling this one out.
Speaker C:I mean, this.
Speaker C:This season out in April, so.
Speaker A:Fire.
Speaker C:Yeah, it will be once a week.
Speaker C:Just.
Speaker A:So the first season was like, y' all just talking about topics and.
Speaker B:Music, random content.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Should dive into the sack, man.
Speaker A:Dive into all that.
Speaker A:That shit's bubbling, man.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah, it is.
Speaker C:Sacks on the rise right now.
Speaker A:Go to Stockton and shoot with a bulletproof vest, you know?
Speaker C:No.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:That's the one thing.
Speaker A:When I got hit up to do the jaybo, I was like, where?
Speaker B:That's funny.
Speaker A:My boy.
Speaker A:My boy Brian, who's like my fake manager.
Speaker A:My boy Brian Sampson, he's like, from Stockton.
Speaker A:He's 58, so he's like a Stockton OG.
Speaker A:He's friends with Jabo's grandpa.
Speaker A:And one day, I was.
Speaker A:I used to work for Empire for a few years during the pandemic.
Speaker A:I was running their content.
Speaker A:And so I was in the bay.
Speaker A:We had.
Speaker A:He worked at Empire too, Brian.
Speaker A:And we had a meeting or some.
Speaker A:I had a meeting with Ghazi and I was about to fly home, and this stupid old.
Speaker A:He's like, hey, bro, just.
Speaker A:Just drive back with me.
Speaker A:He's like, because I had a flight in the morning.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker A:And it was like the night before.
Speaker A:He's like, let's just drive back.
Speaker A:Like, you.
Speaker A:You'll be home.
Speaker A:Because I was like, man, I don't want to stay the night here full.
Speaker A:Like.
Speaker A:He's like, just drive back with me.
Speaker A:Like, we'll drive back to LA together.
Speaker A:Like, you can sleep.
Speaker A:Whatever, Whatever.
Speaker A:So this stupid.
Speaker A:I wake up in Nightingale, essentially.
Speaker D:Damn.
Speaker A:I wake up.
Speaker A:I'm like, yeah, where the are we?
Speaker A:He's like, oh, I'm glad you're awake.
Speaker A:I wanted to show you my old hood.
Speaker D:And I'm like, my great grandma actually lived on Nightingale, and there's hella EBK video shot in front of my.
Speaker C:My.
Speaker D:My grandma's house.
Speaker A:Yeah, you're.
Speaker A:You're.
Speaker A:Why is Big X calling me?
Speaker A:That's random.
Speaker A:Yeah, so, yeah, so we're like, this fool's giving me like a 11 o' clock at night, Stockton tour, and I'm like, dog, give me the.
Speaker A:Out of here.
Speaker C:I don't need to see this.
Speaker A:This is out of the way.
Speaker A:Why are we in Stockton North?
Speaker A:Like, I fell asleep and woke up in Stockton.
Speaker A:We're supposed to be driving back to la, and then we stop at his nephew's house.
Speaker A:I'm like, bro, what the are we doing here, dog?
Speaker A:Like, that's my only Stockton adventure.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Brian Sampson, that piece of.
Speaker C:There's not much for you to see.
Speaker A:Out there, but, yeah.
Speaker A:Nah, Stockton's lit, dog.
Speaker B:They got the thing going.
Speaker C:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker C:That's.
Speaker C:That's something we definitely want to get tapped into more.
Speaker C:Just trying to talk to more people around.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker C:Sacramento, Stockton, and just, you know, starting where we can, you know.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Get all that, man.
Speaker A:You guys could be, like, the face of that scene.
Speaker A:I mean, think about, like, this.
Speaker A:Like, it's.
Speaker A:I mean, obviously this has been around forever.
Speaker C:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:But it's like a Northern California outlet, you know?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:You guys could be the Stockton sack thing.
Speaker A:Dive into the niche.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Obviously do different, you know, but, like, focus on y' all, you know?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker D:With a lot of people just making connections, networking.
Speaker C:That's really the goal.
Speaker A:For sure.
Speaker A:I spoke hard this year.
Speaker C:Yep.
Speaker C:Those are the steps forward.
Speaker A:But are you guys all Mexican?
Speaker C:I'm.
Speaker C:I'm Caucasian.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker D:I'm black and Mexican.
Speaker D:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:He grew up in a Mexican neighborhood, though, so.
Speaker A:Got it.
Speaker C:He's a white.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker C:Same close thing.
Speaker C:I'm saying, I'm like, half Spaniards.
Speaker C:He gets dark in the summertime.
Speaker C:Closest thing he knows that in Spanish.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker C:So bad.
Speaker C:Yeah, but that's all you need, man.
Speaker A:You just need enough to be able to talk to a stripper and tj, bro.
Speaker C:No, I could get.
Speaker C:I could get us through that.
Speaker C:Yeah, I got.
Speaker A:If you can talk.
Speaker A:If you can talk to a cop in Mexico, you're good.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:There we.
Speaker C:I left him in Rosarito without a phone, without a wallet and everything.
Speaker C:I got home good.
Speaker C:So good.
Speaker D:Dad was insane.
Speaker D:See that?
Speaker C:For.
Speaker D:For six hours.
Speaker C:Like, where the were you?
Speaker A:I said, we knew where you were.
Speaker A:I had to go home he was at Hong Kong.
Speaker C:Made a little mission.
Speaker A:Disappeared.
Speaker A:He's like, all right, guys, I'm tired.
Speaker A:I'll be.
Speaker A:I'm hungry.
Speaker A:I ain't gonna give me some Chinese food.
Speaker C:He smelled like cheap perfume.
Speaker B:Smell like Victoria's Secret.
Speaker B:Oh, man.
Speaker C:No, but, hey, we really appreciate you coming on the podcast, man.
Speaker C:Thank you for having us here and letting us shoot here.
Speaker C:And you know what?
Speaker C:What can, you know, our audience look forward to seeing next for you?
Speaker A:You?
Speaker A:Yeah, man.
Speaker A:A little bit of like, what I said earlier.
Speaker A:We're just gonna try to do some different content ideas on the channel.
Speaker A:More interviews still, man.
Speaker A:I'm probably gonna be on the radio and Sack real soon.
Speaker A:I'm working on that right now.
Speaker A:But, yeah, more vlogs.
Speaker A:Different.
Speaker A:Just different.
Speaker A:Different.
Speaker A:There's gonna be some different happening on the channel.
Speaker A:And then.
Speaker A:Yeah, for Sack, I'm hopefully.
Speaker A:I mean, I'll be out there a lot more if I.
Speaker A:If this deal gets done where I'm on.
Speaker A:On air out there.
Speaker A:I'll try to get out there like a couple times a year.
Speaker A:Sack's cool.
Speaker A:I feel like I have fun out there.
Speaker A:It's very, like, nothing to it.
Speaker A:For real, though.
Speaker A:It's kind of crazy.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's like, damn, this is the capital, bro.
Speaker C:I will say it is.
Speaker C:It is buttoned a little bit.
Speaker C:You're seeing.
Speaker C:You're seeing.
Speaker A:You know what I realized, though?
Speaker A:If, like, the Kings are good, it feels lit over there.
Speaker C:Oh, yeah.
Speaker C:But if the Kings suck, that feels.
Speaker A:That's like, let's just shoot each other.
Speaker C:It's almost like all we have.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's like, if the Kings are good, awesome.
Speaker C:Life is great.
Speaker A:But if it's not, are getting their heads blown up.
Speaker A:I think I get their heads blown off anyway.
Speaker C:But if the be list stay inside.
